New grad concerns/questions
I've been a RN for almost 2 years now. I will start my first med/surg position next month. I have worked home health for the past 4 years so I know there will be a huge shift. Is there anything in general that you could give advise on such as time management or what to have/bring to work. Thanks!

Mistakes you've made thus far
Hi, one mistake that I learned from quickly was to always check for clamps on tubing. I was running a g-tube feeding and thought it was flowing but to my surprise the pump was broken so it didn't beep. The other part of this is to always check that the line is actually connected to the pt. Had a patient feeding flowing all over the bed because it disconnected some how.

RN in Fl IPN
:) Went to my interview on Wednesday. I met with the director, charge nurse, and two RNs. Thursday morning I was offered the job! I wasn't worried about the offer, I was worried about the fact that I didn't disclose my contract during the interview. I just didn't see a correct time to throw it in there. However, before I accepted the offer I went back to the hospital and found the director. I told her of my my situation and to my surprise she was all smiles and said, "no problem!" I began to cry tears of joy and relief. She said she believed that I had great things to offer nursing and she has my back! AMEN!!! So my start date is September 7 and I am so grateful.

So I applied at a LTC facility and was basically offered the job until I disclosed my IPN status. The director did not believe that I was sent to IPN for failing a pre-employment test or THC.

Wow! That's great. I've seen conflicting posts on when to present my status. At what point in the interview process should I disclose my IPN contract?
