I am a CNA and am currently going to our community college to become an RN. Do hospitals hire RN's that graduate with an Associates degree???

Thanks.

welcome to allnurses!!!

most hospitals do hire ass. degree nurses. search under the region tab and find your state and look through some of those threads.

oh yeah....I've got one, and started orienting this last monday....

They sure do. In our area, they even hire LPNs.

In my area ADN nurses are the main workforce in hospitals. ADN programs are the main supplier of nurses in the US.

Yes. If you are in doubt about your area, call some of your local hospitals and ask to talk to the nurse recruiters and ask them. It is part of their job to talk with you and answer your questions.

As long as you have your RN, be it from a BSN, ADN, or diploma program, you should have no problem finding a job in a hospital after graduating.

Of course! Good luck to you!

yes because when it's all said and done your license is the same as a nurse with a bachelor's, you both take the same exam, and most nurses I've talked to said the only difference in the BSN programs and the ASN program I just completed is they have a more in depth patho class, peds is separated (ours is worked in over 2 semesters of med/surg) & they take a critical care course which any ADN can take thru their facility if they want to work a critical care unit

Do hospitals hire RN's that graduate with an Associates degree???

If not, it would be a pretty worthless degree, wouldnt it?
