Riverside School of Health Careers RN program

U.S.A. Virginia

Published

Hello everyone!

I am looking for current, past, and even prospective students for Riverside's RN program. I will be applying for the September 2013 professional nursing program. For current or past students, what was your GPA and teas score? Also how was the program, instructors, clinicals? I did attend the last open house in December and I was hoping that a student or recent grad would be there to talk about their experience. I love how the instructors seem to be really supportive and the small campus also appealed to me. To other prospective students what start date are you applying to and do you have any other nursing/healthcare experience? Any advice or other information on the program is greatly appreciated!

I went to the store and got sized there. I don't think we have to wait until orientation. I think that just an option available. Plus I figured with it being between the holidays it would be more convenient to do it now. And not have to worry about if I'll get things before classes start.[/quote']

Ohh good point. Do you live across the water?

I live in Virginia Beach.

Oh ok. So it makes sense for you. Have you been looking at shoes too? That's gonna be my biggest problem

Yes, I found a pair on nursemates.com that I liked. They are white leather slip on sneakers. They have a large selection of nursing shoes.

How do they fit? Are they pretty true to size? I'm hesitant about ordering shoes from the internet.

I just got the shoes today, they are true to size for me. I wear a 7.5.. And they seem to be comfortable. Plus I think the style I picked look pretty good on.

Cool sounds good. I'll have to look into those now.

I have been accepted for the 2014 Spring start at Riverside. Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself! HI everyone :)

How was everyone's first semester of school?? Specifically hgt and kelzfuturenurse Any tips for us??!

It was great! I really enjoyed it. I think you guys are going to have the same teacher we had for fundamental nursing skills I and she is great. I just suggest to do your readings and after lecture, well sometime before the test go back and add stuff from the book into your notes about the specific stuff that was talked about in class. Study off of that and you should be fine. Are you taking nutrition? If so, take the test prep quizzes on the website the book gives you because it is suppppper helpful for the tests! I ended up with 4 A's and 1 A- so I am very happy. :) just study study study and you will be fine. I didn't find level one to be all that hard, so I might be in for a rude awakening in January with harder classes, but I'm just gonna work my butt off! Let me know if you have any more questions. :)

Ah ok. I'm super excited. I got exempt from nutrition because I took it at tncc but I still had to buy the book for later on in school. A girl I work with said I might find the first semester to be easy too, did you work during the semester if so how many days? And how were clinicals??!
