Riverside School of Health Careers RN program

U.S.A. Virginia

Hello everyone!

I am looking for current, past, and even prospective students for Riverside's RN program. I will be applying for the September 2013 professional nursing program. For current or past students, what was your GPA and teas score? Also how was the program, instructors, clinicals? I did attend the last open house in December and I was hoping that a student or recent grad would be there to talk about their experience. I love how the instructors seem to be really supportive and the small campus also appealed to me. To other prospective students what start date are you applying to and do you have any other nursing/healthcare experience? Any advice or other information on the program is greatly appreciated!

Oh ok, I was born pre hep B vaccine so when they checked mine a few years ago I had no immunities for hep B. So I got the series then, so now they are checking that one to see if it was effective.

I believe for any immunizations if you've had them then you don't need to get a titer drawn. The only immunization on that list that you have to get done periodically is the tetorifice one (every 10 years).[/quote']

Ohh ok sounds good. We didn't have a tetorifice one listed on our paperwork though.

Yes, it's the Tdap.. For tetorifice, diphtheria and pertussis. That's the shot that doesn't hurt to get but leaves you feeling like someone punched you in the shoulder for a week.

Are you thinking of the one that says TST(tuberculin skin test)? I updated my tdap last year though.

It's the first section listed under immunization, section A) tetorifice diphtheria Toxoid gives you either the Td or Tdap depending on which one you had. I got the Tdap, my shoulder hurt for a week. Lol

I just saw it I was still looking at the front page lol. I had one last year and I distinctively remember that feeling lol

Just kidding! Lol I actually just found one at guess where...riverside of all places haha. If any one wants the info let me know.

I'm taking mine through EVMS in a couple weeks.. So I got my uniforms ordered, pants were less then flattering.. Plus They didn't fit me, so I had to order those elsewhere and now just waiting on my second TST test then I'll be all done with the medical paperwork. Looking forward to the books being available to order.

I thought we had to wait until orientation to order uniforms because they are taking our measurements? The book website says September 2013 I wonder if our books will be the same.

I went to the store and got sized there. I don't think we have to wait until orientation. I think that just an option available. Plus I figured with it being between the holidays, it would be more convenient to do it now. And not have to worry about if I'll get things before classes start.
