Dual Acceptance- What to email the school I will not be attending?
203bravo- Thanks for the input! I sent the email, short and sweet. I didn't mention why, even though I felt the need to explain myself for some reason?!? PurpleLover- I think every school is different. For me, I decide to pay the deposit knowing I wouldn't get it back if I got in somewhere else. The money paid was worth the security of I got knowing that I was going to start somewhere

Dual Acceptance- What to email the school I will not be attending?
Hi Everyone! I received acceptance to two different schools. The first school I received acceptance from is not the school I want to attend, however I have proceeded with them up until this point. I sent a deposit, met with the financial aid adviser, and began the online orientation. Now I have received an acceptance letter from my first choice school...how do I tell the first program that I will not be attending their school? Is there a customary format? What do I say? Should I say why I choose the other school? It is because of proximity and lower tuition, so it isn't because the fist program isn't amazing...I hear it is. Anyways I started the email and I'm hesitant to send it. It feels very awkward! Please help. I want to send it STAT so the alternates hear sooner rather than later. This is a QUALITY problem to have. I am grateful to have this opportunity to pick! Good luck to everyone in the application process. It is stressful, I know. In the end, it is worth all the stress because we will be NURSES one day! :)

Best way to understand information for nursing school tests?
Well, I am not in nursing school yet (I start in 2014) but I do have some experience with complex study materials- AP anyone? What I did was purchase a large dry erase board and I try to teach imaginary "students" the lesson. It sounds cheesy- because it is :) But IT WORKS! The process of reading aloud the material, and writing it down at the same time helps me memorize. If I have pictures to draw (poorly, but that's not the point) I do, which helps immensely. I study this way for hours. And when I start the process sometimes I can't explain it, but it doesn't matter. It is just me there. I say the words, hear them, ask myself questions and repeat until I begin to connect the dots! The final step is when I actually can explain it to someone. Real (study partners) or imaginary (like at 2 AM alone in my room) it doesn't matter. If you can explain it clearly, you know it. If you can't explain it, something is wrong. I hope this helps and good luck :)
