Riverside Community College Nursing Spring 2014

Published

Hello everyone. I just wanted to start the thread for all the new applicants of RCC's Nursing Program for Spring 2014. This thread is to help each other stay current with old and new information about the program. Share your thoughts about the application process, teas V preparation, acceptance, and support group. Let the applications begin!!

Thanks for your reply and the info. Gosh, I hope i get in this year to nursing school. Do you know if the program is hard to get into? I bet there are a lot of people who apply as it is so saturated in California. Any info would be great again! :)
Hi there, it is a very compacted major. My advice is to try to get the most A's as you can. And score high on your Teas, or Hesi exam (Entrance exams the nursing programs use) As far as RCC's program. I had an average gpa, not so high teas score. But I have my CNA license, bilingual, and circumstance needed so all that worked to my favor. It really just depends on the program you decide to get into. If you are choosing a program that is off a point system try to have between 75-85 points(75 the least). You will be okay. Hope this was helpful : ) If you need any more advice just ask
I registered under a different program of study, since Registered Nursing was not available in web advisor. Did anyone else have the same issue. I visited the admissions office and they couldn't find Registered Nursing as a program of study either.

This is what mine says

Active Programs of Study

AS586 Nursing-Registered Nursing

What does yours currently say when you click on the Update Program of Study link.

I agree with the previous post to not get all the books just yet. If you're still on standby just get the Taylor text....if you look at the postings from students currently in the program they say Taylor is the most important text.

I bought all mine last week I spent almost $700.

You bought all of your books for $700? That sounds good. What website did you buy it from. We need all the books on the ATI packet that says NURSING 11 BOOKLIST-SPRING 2014 right?

Does bundle 3 include all the books we need?

For some reason I paid around $470 for package #3. :(((

I just paid $470 as well. Did you call the company?

Guys :( I did my drug test last week Thursday and my status is still pending (meaning they havnt recieved it from the lab) Does it normally take this long? :( I really wanted priority registration :(

Specializes in L&D, NICU.

It should come back any day now. I know the drug screen takes 2-3 days. I'm surprised so many people got done and registered. Geez registration barely started yesterday and kaiser is full

I got bundle 1 as it was the cheapest....it includes 4 of the texts that we need plus prepU access....the rest I ordered off of amazon...if there was a paperback version available then I chose that to save money, and I picked sellers that offered free shipping.

:( I really wanted Kaiser, I live like 2 mins away. Im surprised how quickly these all got filled as well. Did you get into your choice of clinicals?

i signed up for amazon prime for students, it's free with a .edu email address and free two day shipping, just so you guys know if you haven't ordered all your books or supplies yet!

Thanks linneamarie...I'm going to sign up for that!

I spoke with someone at the Nursing Dept. and they explained that once we get cleared we can register during our registration date. Getting "cleared" doesnt give us priority registration.

Im so confused. I thought I heard --------- say that getting cleared sooner gives us priority registration.
