Ah thank you that's such a relief!! On the schedule they gave us for the first two weeks there is a ton of assigned reading....should we get started on that? Will the reading be that heavy the entire semester? Thanks for your help I really appreciate it!! :)
Reading is really heavy the first couple weeks. It slows down a little after that. The most important reading is in the Taylor book. All the lectures come from that, so focus on those chapters and just skim the other books. Most of the info in the other books is just repeating what's in Taylor.
I think the prices are pretty similar. I personally chose amazon because I have a store card with them and got 12 months interest free financing which will save me money in the long run. Also if you never signed up through amazon before you can use your RCC email for 1 month of free Amazon Prime 2-day shipping but just make sure you cancel it prior to the end of the 1 month trail or you will be charge $42 per year for the membership.[/quote']Amazon also offers amazon student. It has many of the same benefits as prime, free 2 day shipping. When I signed up it was free for 6 months, te regular prime was only free for one month. After that it is half price to sign up for an additional year.
Hello thanks a lot for the info! :-) I have a question about the ATI packet though. I was wondering because in our packet it is stated that we must complete immunizations, CPR, background and drug screen by Jan 8 for priority registration. Does this mean that we can purchase the ATI packet, uniforms, and supply kit after Jan 8? [/quote']We had a date we needed to buy it by, and it was before priority registration. Priority registration is January 8-10. I would buy it as early as you can. I know it's super expensive. To be honest we hardly used it in NRN 11, but they want everyone to have it before starting. For the uniforms, the earlier you buy them the faster you get them. If you wait too long it could take up to a month to arrive after you order them. You can buy the supply kit later, as long as you have it before you start Skills lab. You don't need it to register. They ran out before my semester started and some people didn't have them the first couple weeks. If this happens you can share a stethoscope and bp cuff with someone until you get your bag. Those are really the only 2 things in there you need for the first couple weeks.
@Tbotbo, thanks for all the heads up! So far I just need to complete my second TB read on Monday and I'm done for all the health stuff required. Background/Drug test came out good. I did some comparing on the book bundles versus amazon, and it is actually cheaper buying the bundles with the discount code and stuff. Is there anything else aside from what was given to us in the book list that would help us for 1st semester?
You should go see at at school at the financial aid department about school loans, or do a private loan. but so far all my pay checks have been going to everything needed. That and just asking relatives.... I know it is alot. I started saving up beforehand just incase I would get inOMGEEEEE i don't have that kind of MONEY!! How are you guys paying for the fees? Can we get loans?
