Riverside Community College Nursing Program Spring 2016

Published

Hi everyone!

I thought I would begin a thread for everyone applying to the nursing program at Riverside City College for the spring 2016. Hope we can share about our process here. :)

Currently, I'm finishing up my Anatomy/Physiology 2 and Sociology 100 at CSUSB. So far, I've been doing well, I think haha! If I finish with an A in sociology I'll have a 4.0 for my general eds and a 3.0 for my science gpa. After the spring quarter, I'll be studying for the TEAS exam for a little over a month and take the exam in July. Any advice that's related to the TEAS exam?

Hope we can begin this thread. Best wishes to everyone here!:up::)

Hey everyone ! Quick question... For those who took the TEAS at LLU-SN. Was this at their school or nursing building and how much was parking ? Just trying to prep and eliminate as many surprises as possibly tomorrow. Thank you :)

So I took the TEAS exam today and let's just say I didn't do well on it. I'm entering the application process with a total of 70 points. Well, my chances are really atrocious. I let myself down big time. :banghead:

I'm probably going to have to take a CNA course but that's what I was trying to avoid. I'm really not looking forward to December.

I took the TEAS today, although I know my score wasn't to the best of my ability is was more than enough to place me in the 78-89 category which added 30 points to my previous 55! All together I have 85 points so I'm excited. Good luck to everyone who still has to take the TEAS!

For the math, I found it very helpful to watch the study videos from mometrix on YouTube! That saved my math score so much compared to the practice tests!

December can't come fast enough now!!! :)

Jeannette - The CNA course is fun and usually only like a month long depending where you take it at! With that you should have a much better chance! Good luck to you, I wish you the very best :) Don't be discouraged!

OMG reading your post got me nervous!!! =(

Did you find the ATI helpful at all??

How long did you study for?? Was it hard for you??

I'm more like ok let's just rip this band aid off already :writing:

I found the ATI helpful for every section besides math. Most of the stuff I came across was from the ATI manual so I would definitely say study from there. I forgot about so many things when it came to math that I actually needed to be refreshed and the Mometrix videos were like being in class relearning. Very helpful!

Don't worry, you'll do fine! I found it to be a tad bit easier than I expected, the practice tests on the website are much harder. I was scoring in the 60s on those and that worried me!

I only studied for about a week.. But mostly within 2 days haha. The anxiety kept me from concentrating every time I attempted to study within the last month.

Wow 2 days?? I will check out Momentrix. For science they don't seem to help me much (momentrix) So you just read the book? I have been told I should be doing flash cards and all?? But I don't have time for all that!

I know, at times I feel that way and then I freak out again..

I agree I didn't have time for flashcards either. Yea, I went over the Reading and English sections in the ATI manual within the last month.. And the two days I spent going through everything involved with math and science because those were the sections I was most worried about. I do better when everything is fresh rather than spread out over time, some people don't.

How was the science section ? I've gone over everything in the book but when I take practice test there are questions that were not covered in the book. I've been taking practice test and not doing as well as I hope. I'm really worried I'm not going to do good. 😕
