Riverside Community College fall 2014

Published

Just submitted my application for fall 2014 at RCC!! Waiting on receipt confirmation!

Thank you live2nursebetter!

I think I have read some posts from you in another thread, and it sounded like that you are already in the rcc nursing program.

If yes, how do you like it, how are the instructors?

Also do you know anything about the partnership with Cal State Fullerton for the Rn to BSN bridge program? I was wondering if you can actually start the Rn to BSN when you are still in the ADN program, if yes, how soon can you start with it and how many classes can you take?

I appreciate your help.

I went to the NXN 84 class yesterday (ended up getting cancelled due to lack of students), and the instructor told me that there are 800 applications for Fall 2014 and only 80 students will get in, yikes! :nailbiting:

She also said, that the mean for Spring 2014 was 75 points, but ------------- the counselor told me that if you have 80 points you are usually safe! That doesn't seem toooo bad....

I have 60 points before the TEAS, so I'm hoping to do at least above a 78% to receive an additional 30points. Making my total 90. I'm scared of the TEAS though!!! The study manual seems so much easier then the practice online test....

Hi jaderachel01

The online practice tests are way harder then the actual test. I scored about 10% higher on the actual test than on the practice test. In my opinion the practice tests are a waste of money.

I'm so happy you just said that... how did you do on TEAS?

mp86, yes I'm currently in the second year of the program n21, I really enjoy the program, there are so many resources for us to utilize, the instructors are for the most part are very good instructors. They are always available to help/answer questions, with every school there are instructors who are just flat out horrible but that is very uncommon in the RN program at RCC. As far as the bridge program I'm not completely sure about it, the best people to talk about it are --------- or ------------, they will point you in the right direction. I heard that you can start the bridge program while in the RCC nursing program however it is not at the same time while you are in a nursing course. Several of my friends took a summer class at RCC that is an intro to the bridge program ( I think ), it was quite expensive and i could not afford it at the time. The bridge program is there for students to enter right after they finish the RCC program as long as they have all their pre-requisets met. Overall its an excellent program, I highly recommend you do what you can to get in, its a very distinguished program, we are very well known when we walk on our clinical units (nurses are very excited to see us :) ). I wish you and everyone on this thread the best of luck, DON'T give up, you will get in! I got in on my second try! Good luck!

Thank you so much live2nursebetter and good luck for the rest of the program.

Is that the nursing for success class ? I signed up for it too but for the one that starts in April...I wonder if the april one will be cancelled too !!! :/

She told you 800 applications !!! Omg I'm nervous now ..yikes!!! :0

I wonder how many applicants there were for spring and last fall! If it is around 800 like this fall than I would not be as nervous if that makes sense lol ...only because a lot of people got in with 75 and 80 points !!! :)

Everyone who was in the class registered for the April session, so I'm sure there will be enough people.

I went to the nursing workshop today and --------------- said that there was around 580 applications and that 300-350 will probably be left after they weed through them, so that's not too bad! Maybe the NXN-84 teacher was just guessing?!?! ;)

Have you taken the TEAS yet?

She also said that if you have 80 points your pretty much safe! 75 points is usually good to go also ;)
