Riverside Community College fall 2014

Published

Just submitted my application for fall 2014 at RCC!! Waiting on receipt confirmation!

She also said that if you have 80 points your pretty much safe! 75 points is usually good to go also ;)[/quote

Awesome that makes me feel better :) !!! I think ------------ would know more since she's the educational advisor so I'm going to stick with her 560 and not the 800 number haha !!! I was looking back at previous posts in other semesters and they said around 600 applications a semester so 560 sounds about right Yaaay lol!!!

I haven't taken the teas yet I'm studying for it right now and going to take it at rcc in may when they invite people ! I'm most nervous about the reading section because I dislike reading a long passage and having to analyze it when I'm being timed yikkkes lol ...I'm going to be so nervous the day of the test

I'm in the program and for the teas I greatly recommend paying the $80 for the practice tests. They are harder than the actual test so if you do well on them and study the areas you scored low on you'll do amazing well on the actual exam. The book is a good foundational resource and I also studied off the mcgraw hill one as well.

where do I get the practice tests ? On the ATI website ?

Smartchick if you don't mind me asking what did you get on the TEAS and how many points did u have overall :)

Your going to do great on TEAS if your already starting to study! I agree with the 560 applications also... It made me feel so much better when she told us LOL

I think I'm going to schedule an appointment with LLU to take the TEAS around the end of March, just incase I do not pass it!!! :nailbiting: Giving me time to retake it if I have to. RCC offers their TEAS test right at deadline, so I don't want to chance not passing it. I just started studying hardcore, so hopefully I will totally ready by the end of March...

Go on the ATI website and look at the study tools... Both practice test versions are on there.

You can purchase the ATI tests on the website. You get two of them and you can take each exam twice. The nice thing too is that it times you so you can see how much time you spend on each section. Time was a factor for a lot of people especially on the math section. I scored an 84 on my teas exam and I had 80 points. I got accepted right away and wasn't put on any alternates list. It really depends on the group of people applying. Just because our cutoff was nothing below 75 (haven't met anyone yet with less than that could be wrong though) doesnt mean yours will be the same. It varies with every pool of applicants. I'd say though if you get at least 80 points I'm sure you'll get in. Make sure as soon as you get accepted to start getting your immunizations, titers, background check, drug test and physical done right away. Immunizations and titers especially take time to get done and if you don't meet the deadline you'll be dropped.

Smartchick0123, what type of immunizations are required?

Thanks !!! Time will be a big factor for me because I second guess myself on tests yikes :/ lol !!!!

Did you take the teas at rcc? Do yoy get your score right after the test or do you have to wait ?

You need two tb tests consecutively (must be done within 3 months of semester start date), adult dosage of tdap, MMR titer, varicella titer, polio, flu shot, hep B titer, current bls cpr that wont expire before the semester ends and a physical. The physical must be completed no sooner than 6 months before the semester start date. The titers have to be done even if you have proof of vaccination. The drug test and background check cant be done until you attend orientation.

I took mine at RCC and you get your score an hour after the end time of the exam. You don't have to wait there I checked mine on my phone.
