Here we are again in upstate NY. Yet another blizzard is upon us. All area schools are closed, business's are closing early and sending their employee's home. A state on emergency has been declared, no unnecessary travel. But for those of us who work at hospitals it's business as usual, no snow day for you. I know I'm not alone theirs lots of us you will risk life and limb getting to your job . I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW HOW INCREDIBLE YOU ALL ARE AND HOW LUCKY YOUR EMPLOYERS ARE TO HAVE SUCH DEDICATED EMPLOYEES. We don't hear that enough. It's days like today that make it clear

This winter sure has been a crazy one. Where can I sign a petition for snow hazard pay for health care professionals?
Once I have my few years experience in I will be heading more south - and I took myself some good snow pictures this year to remind me why in case I get the crazy notion that I'll miss it!
Drive safe out there.

Here in mid-MI, I thought I was going to need therapy after my 25-minute drive to work yesterday turned into an hour and 10. Yup, more than doubled. Not to mention I watched 3 people slide off the road in front of me!

I am from your general area and I can relate. It was terrible out there! Luckily, I work in a school now and we had a snow day so I didn't have to travel but my husband did. Spring can't come fast enough!

BRRRRRRR
It has been a horrible winter. We have had 4 below-freezing nights. Wrecked my geraniums. Hmm - OK, give me a break here. I'm trying to be sympathetic, but (full disclosure) I don't even own a 'winter coat'. Love me some Houston.

By far this storm was the worst driving this winter.....and today brilliant sunshine. Enjoying the sunshine for sure. I am ready to put away winter coats and collect maple sap.....yum! Come on Spring!

MY SIL lives in Texas and she is so funny when she sends pictures of a dusting....but it is paralyzing down there for y'all dont have the snow experience.
My condolences to your geraniums.

Northern Minnesota has had more than 59 days below 0 and a stretch of 23 consecutive days below zero this winter. We hit the 40s last week for a high, the first since mid-November.
We are used to a week or 2 of 20+below but this year has been never-ending. I finally found an extension cord to plug in my car at work. I work nights and will be danged if my car won't start in the morning.
I like the idea of hazard pay!!! We do have a great crew who has made it in for most of our bad weather, but on nights we are always prepared to stay if we have to.
To put things in perspective I own several winter coats... The cute ones for a trip to the store and the ugly warm one for chores, plus snow pants and warm boots.
I even started wearing long johns under my scrub pants this winter in addition to long sleeved tshirts and a fleece hoodie every night.
Yep, pretty much just looking for sympathy now!!lol
