RIO HONDO ADN Summer/FALL 2020

Published

Hi,

I have not seen a thread for people who applied for the upcoming Summer/fall start at Rio Hondo so wanted to create one. I know the deadline for the applications just passed but feel free to post stats or questions that you may have. Goodluck to everyone :- )

Oh, yes, it helps! Thank you.. I guess I didn't put much attention to this information. ?

Hi guys! I just gave up my spot on the waitlist because I got an offer from Cal State East Bay (my top school) after being on their waitlist for over a month. Hopefully that helps out at least one person who is on there. I wanna congratulate everyone who is currently waiting to start the program, & for anyone else who is waiting to hear back from any other schools, you WILL get in where you're meant to get in. You will have that RN (or BSN-RN or LVN, or MD or whatever it is you're working towards), & you will succeed. Good luck to everyone on this new journey, & I am so happy for you!

Sorry but I just need some clarification on the MMR/Varicella/Hep B vaccines. So if my bloodwork/titers shows immunity (positive), do I still need to submit any documentation of the vaccination shots? Or is the positive result sufficient? I thought we still needed to submit both according to the checklist/Castlebranch, but when I spoke with my doctor, he said I don't need those shots if the bloodwork shows that I'm immune. The problem is I don't have any of those vaccinations on record.

Hi @Alicia, I am in the same situation .. I do not have any records of my immunization, and I am waiting for my blood work results, that should be ready on Monday. If I have the blood work show the immunization, do we still need show some records? Did you find a answer for you? Did you email them about it?

Hello y'all, --------- changed varicella status from rejected to complete on castlebranch just now. (not sure I can put her actual name on this post so I've put the faculty's initials instead) As mentioned above, I lost my vaccine record and only had titer test result showing immunity for varicella. After uploading the titer test, I got rejection notification from castlebranch. If you're in a similar situation, follow the same pathway. Email ----------------- directly once you get the rejection notification or any castlebranch questions to her(her word).

I just saw it. Thank you, I will email her too. ?

The earliest blood work appointment I could get is April 30th 1 week before the May 8th deadline. Do you guys know if I can upload my immunization record prior to uploading the blood work results? I have all the vaccines needed on record its just the blood work I'm waiting on.

@kdarling Try Southern California Medical Center. I went to the one in Pico Rivera but they have a few locations. You should be able to get an appointment with then sooner. They took my blood yesterday and said I would have my results by Wednesday.

Has anyone had any issues with their vision test? What happens if we fail it? I emailed our contact for the program but she said to see what my doctor says. My Doctor has not gotten back to me yet tho... ?

Hey guys, for the family history part of the physical exam sheet, do we complete it or does the physician?

I haven’t taken mine yet, but I know I have pretty crap vision in one eye (lazy eye). I’m not sure what would happen if we fail it ?

Does anyone know what the 2x2 photo will be used for or have any ideas? Is it for our clinical badges? Thanks

I thought I heard her say it was the hospitals requirement...not sure. So maybe an ID badge? Not sure
