  1. Congrats to all those who were accepted! I came to this site for info on a different topic, but decided to look to see if there was an update on the 2023 cohort. I'm glad to see there is! I am a recent ADN grad class of 2022, and I'd be happy to give any tips or info for any of the incoming students. Feel free to reach out at [email protected]. I used to be the mentorship coordinator for the nursing club, and can point you in the direction of useful study tools while you start the program ? Good job on your hard work to get into the program! It's tough, but very worth it! Congrats again!
  2. Hello! is there a spot where all the students who were accepted are gathered to share questions or updates? A facebook group or something like that? thanks!!
  3. Yes we had to add the Zoom because too many people were feeling omicrummy LOL. However, the live event will be much more fun ?
  4. Hello again! My name is Nadia I’m currently a second year ADN student at Rio and I just wanted to say hi and welcome to those who got accepted. I have posted here for your group previously, and I wanted to check in again and invite you to an event tomorrow. Keys To Success is going to be held in person and on Zoom for students who have been accepted into the ADN, LVN, and CNA programs starting this Spring. If you don't feel well, please join us on Zoom. If you are an alternate, please consider joining us on Zoom as well. It's a good chance to get to know what is coming and ask any questions you might have. The event is tomorrow at 9 am, and we anticipate it might end around noon. I have attached a flyer for your convenience. I know you have a discord group, so please feel free to share there as a reminder. It is my understanding that you should have received the invitation from ------------------------------ already as well. In the meantime, feel free to reach out at [email protected] welcome and congrats! Keys To Success Flyer- 2022.pdf
  5. Hi! I’m currently a second year ADN student at Rio and I just wanted to say hi and welcome to those who got accepted. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I know this process can be daunting and I am happy to help. I’m currently working with a professor and some current students to coordinate another orientation-type event for you all in January. It’ll be put on by current students to help you prepare and hopefully set you up for success! We are looking forward to meeting you in person in January. In the meantime, feel free to reach out at [email protected] welcome and congrats!
  6. Hello! I’m a first year ADN student and after Summer I’ll be starting my second year. In searching for volunteer opportunities for the Summer, I found Summer camps that hire student nurses. I start at camp in a month and I’m really excited. I am hoping that the experience I get at the camp will help make up for the clinical hours we had to miss due to covid. Does anyone have any tips or advice? Anything I can do to get ready, or any topics I should review or learn ahead of time to be better prepared? Also, for any that have done camp nursing, what skills did you learn? What skills were practiced or developed that helped you in your nursing career or education?
  7. Thank you. Goes without saying I won’t be alone. I think that would probably be illegal. I actually got hired at more than one camp but specifically chose that one because my conversation with one of the RNs working there was so amazing. She made me feel like she will really support and teach me. I just want to know how I can prepare ahead of time to make myself more useful.

  9. Has anyone had any issues with their vision test? What happens if we fail it? I emailed our contact for the program but she said to see what my doctor says. My Doctor has not gotten back to me yet tho... ?
  10. @kdarling Try Southern California Medical Center. I went to the one in Pico Rivera but they have a few locations. You should be able to get an appointment with then sooner. They took my blood yesterday and said I would have my results by Wednesday.
