RIO HONDO ADN Summer/FALL 2020

Hi,

I have not seen a thread for people who applied for the upcoming Summer/fall start at Rio Hondo so wanted to create one. I know the deadline for the applications just passed but feel free to post stats or questions that you may have. Goodluck to everyone :- )

Yes, complete castlebranch, order your books and uniform and send in the documents that was requested of us in the email from the staff.

You won't get a registration number until everything is complete.

Hey guys I am a bit confused. I don't know how to order the course point at the online bookstore. In the picture above, I ordered the first and the 3rd as hardcovers, but confused on course point.

Is this the correct course point for our class? It says " Taylor's clinical Nursing Skills" but I ordered that one as a book (3rd book on picture above).

Yes, that is correct. We need Course Point and the two books.

Course Point is the online module for the book. It includes learning tools, case studies, virtual simulation, and real-time data

Yes it’s a requirement! I went back and my doctor filled it out

I’ve received 4 HepB Vaccines in my lifetime. However, my physician let me know today that I am not immune. So he is going to have me start the series over today. I am in my physicians office and will receive the first of three starting today. Does that mean I upload the negative IGG results and proof that I am repeating the vaccine series to still be eligible to be in the program. I have to wait 2 months and then 6 months for the HEPB series to be completed the 6 weeks after the last vaccine to do the IGG blood work. Am I able to be receiving the vaccines and still be in the program? I’m so confused and nervous this blood work/ vaccine is a lot. They say you have to be compliant or you will be dropped from the class. Does compliant mean positive immunity? Or does compliant mean eve with negative immunity you just have to repeat the vaccine again and show proof a new series has been started?

I also got hepB. As far I know, you just need to prove the first shot was done.. then you will keep them updated.

I had also a dtap shot yesterday...and my arm is kiillllliiiiing me!

Okay this is so annoying haha I literally thought I would be immune because I’ve gotten 4 HepB vaccines already when I was younger ??? not I have to get 3 more like OMG thanks for responding

Yes just show that you had your titers done and it came out negative. And you are now starting the series, so show verification of first vaccine.

Do we have to purchase the two books each with course point, or does purchasing course point once work?

Hello everyone,

Have most of you guys sent the flu shot, CPR, Fire Card and 2x2 photo directly to Rio Hondo yet. Does it have to arrive by May 8th or be sent out by May 8th? Just curious on where everyone else is at with the sending those items directly to them step.
