Before our spring break I had 2 students (sisters) have ringworm. I spoke with their mom and she had been treating them and it was being covered up here at school. Now we are back from our 2 week break and another student in class has it and the teacher states she has it on her arm. I have talked to the students mother and she has seen the dr and is treating it (she did not have it covered this morning, i informed mom she needs to do that). Teacher mentioned to me letting parents know there has been a couple cases in the classroom. Is this something I should make parents aware of? I'm fairly new and haven't had many cases of ringworm like this.
I would not do anything about this new case. Consider it an isolated case. Keep watch on it. It takes close skin to skin contact to get that stuff anyway. Why open that can of worms if you don't have to.
Thanks all! Those were my thoughts too. I feel like they expect me to do some magic spells and get rid of everything. I don't want parents to worry over this if I sent letters home, I have other things to worry about.
Laughing here till tears are running down my cheeks !! It really didn't strike me that I had said "can of worms" ! Thanks for making me laugh SN friends !
I wouldn't even call it Ringworm. Call it a fungal infection instead. It might be from the gym mats. I see many students who are wrestlers with this round fungal infection of which you speak.
