hi guys!
im a registered nurse in the philippines
im planning to practice in new jersey where my aunt
lives so i need to take cgfns. im confused what review
center wouls i choose.
in kaplan they have 180 hours laboratory + 26 hours
lecture 3hours 3x a week is that advisable for cgfns?
in labagnoy review center they have 1 month course
review 1 month critical review 1 month final coaching
perhaps just like in gapuz cos i went to gapuz on my local
boards, but i learned from some friends labagnoy is good in
cgfns while kaplan is good in nclex + gapuz is for local
boards... no doubt about that
also im looking for good resources for cgfns, right now im
so confused, no problem with the fee no problem with the
location... the only thing is which is better for cgfns?
labagnoy or kaplan? pls help! thanks!

Question: HOw much is the review for NCLEX in Kaplan? I'm planning to take it up this AUgust? anybody knowS? I'm trying to search for their website but to no avail. thanks!
NCLEX KAPLAN - P21, 500. I am not sure if it's discounted already. There's one in quezon ave and manila. and provincial areas as well.
If most states in US doesn't need the CGFNS why bother taking it? It a waste of money to say the least...please see Suzanne's threads for info.
the advantage is i can already apply for visa screen even without the nclex and at the same time i can already look for employment while waiting for my elibility/authority to test.

you are completely wrong in that thought. Not one reputable facility will offer you a position based on the CGFNS exam. They want to see that you passed the NCLEX exam.
The VSC is not needed initially for any petitioning. And since you are new here, perhaps you need to know how CGFNS works as per the exam. You must have all documents to them by the cut-off date, and that means verification from your school, etc. If it misses the date, you wait until the next exam. No exceptions are made to this.
Next, you will find out if you passed more than four weeks after the exam on the compute, but for your official letter, which must be submitted; that takea approximately two months for you to receive after the exam.
So, you are lokoing at not taking the exam until next year, as you have more than likely missed the date for the Novemeber exam. As well as you will not get your results to submit until next February or so, due to heavy mailings at holiday time. You can surely get the NCLEX done and have results by then.
I suggest that you really take the time to read some threads here and actually find out how things are done.

hey lana you might want to check this out......
cgfns-the commission on graduates of foreign nursing schools exam-has been eliminated in new jersey effective may 1, 2006, giving filipinos and other foreign nurses a break of more than $350 when they apply in any new jersey hospital or nursing home, the filipino reporter has learned.
