I am freaking out a little right now. I took my test on Monday. I thought I was prepared (did Kaplan online and scored mid 60's) and that I would have 75 questions and it would shut off and I would feel pretty good.
Well, what REALLY happened is I went all of the way to 275! It took 5 hours and I was COMPLETELY brain dead by question 150. Anywho, since I went to the end I know that I at least was in the game the whole time.
My dilemma is that I am supposed to go to work tonight. I am on the schedule for Wed, Thurs, Fri and I don't know what I should do. If I look at the quick results today, and pass - well great! BUT if I didn't pass I have to call work and tell them I can't come in. I was thinking about just waiting for the envelope in the mail to see if I passed. At least I will be able to work.... but I will probably go crazy.
What do you think?

I know exactly how you feel! At least partly... I took Kaplan, was all prepared, at 75 questions I cringed hoping it would shut off, but NOPE... question 76... 100... 130... 150... then at 160 it shut off. At that point, I had 1 hour left and started going fast thinking I would be going to 265 and didn't want to have the test shut off on me. Maybe a bad mistake since it shut off pre-maturely at 160 when I had an hour to spare... guess it's hard to predict.
I think you should look! There's no worse feeling then the wait and NOT knowing. At least you will be able to move on either way, but hopefully in a positive light! I can't be optimistic for you, as I'm not optimistic myself, hehe. But I have been checking my results frantically since 2 hours after the test (yet I knew it wouldn't be up!). I just want to know now! Maybe in 15 minutes they may have my score up... I think I'll check again.

i wonder if you could fail boards from sheer exhaustion with all those questions..
Jason ~ I am thinking about you and am sending positive vibes! More than 75 questions is frustrating, huh?
Kizzy Kat~ By question 200 I was thinking "I just want the dang computer to decide! Yes or No! Please computer make up your mind and shut off! I can't keep going like this." I started to make mistakes at the end. Three times I would answer something and click "next" and than realize I hit the wrong answer. I had to take a sec and refocus A LOT! But hey, at least it gave me 265....so.....
When I did the question trainers on Kaplan and was doing over 200 questions I would take breaks and do a load of laundry or make myself something to eat. I scored 64% on #7. But when I was taking the NCLEX I took only one break since I was worried about time. It was easy to get tired and blurry eyed. UGH!
Thanks for the advice!! I decided to look since my results were there and I thought I would THROW UP if I didn't! I am happy to say that I passed!!!!

CONGRATS!!!!!
I don't know how you even considered NOT LOOKING????? I took mine on monday and I worked last night, I checked the Pearsonvue website every hour after midnight. I was so anxious, I couldn't wait one extra minute!! I drove myself and everyone at work NUTS!. I'm glad to say that finnally, after the longest 48 hrs of my life, I also passed with 99 questions.
Now, I'm thinking about burning all my notes to finally free myself, what do you think?

I also took it on Monday and checked Pearson Vue every single hour since that time! :) And I am burning ALL of my notes when I get home, although I am passing along my NCLEX study prep guides to my friend who is still a nursing student. Doesn't it feel great to be done?!?!
