Hi everyone! I applied California to take Nclex RN but I got denied. I am now planning to apply in Texas but I have a questions. If I am a permanent resident of California (Non Compact State) and applying Nclex RN in Texas (Compact State), what will be my license? Will they consider my license as NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact)?
Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it!

No you will have a single state license (a license only valid in Texas) unless you move and change your legal permanent residence to Texas.
okay got it. Thank you very much for your reply. I appreciate it.

And if CA won't let you take NCLEX, they won't let you get a license there by reciprocity from TX (or anywhere else, my assumption being that they won't let you take it because they didn't approve your nursing school education).

You have to LIVE in the compact state to be considered to have a "compact license". Why won't California let you take NCLEX? If you take it for Texas licensure, are you planning to move to Texas?
