Repetitious Threads & Recycled Reponses

Published

With any process which has been witnessed a vast number of times, we can factor in typical variables and foresee the probable probable outcomes.

So it is with responses on this well-trafficked forum. Through the years, it has been noted that numerous thread topics repetitively recycle, as do the responses.

Here's a few examples of situations and responses:

Personality problem with a patient and/or family member? "They're just being jerks, you're good, they're bad, just apathetically have empathy for them and remember to CYA by objectively charting that they were acting like jerks."

Problem with your job? "Quit ASAP and have another one lined up, but don't burn any bridges, because that might come back to bite you in the butt."

Problem with a coworker? "Confront that coworker by ignoring them, and report their behavior to the manager, but don't be a tattletale because nobody likes a tattletale."

Problem with a superior? "Report them to HR who won't do anything about it because they're on administration's side, so see Problems with your job?"

Another way in which threads become bashing or pecking parties is through sarcastic humor.

I am guilty as charged.

However, in usually being humorously self-deprecating, the one I bash is unlikely to be offended and/or retaliate.

It is noted that we enjoy putting others down for their lack of common sense or imprudent decisions. If another carries the ball, let the bashing begin!

Still another type of recycled responses is using quotes and the word you.

The challenger quotes a post- and God knows why they quote the entire post when one sentence suffices- and will attack the poster using the word you.

First, quoting the post is like saying, "Yeah, I'm lookin' at you, Bobby De Niro!" singling the poster out, meeting them toe to toe.

Then the challenger says, "YOU said this! and YOU believe this! and YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU!"

Using the word you is again symbolically singling out an individual and also  poking that person in the chest.

It is no wonder there are dramatically heated threads with a lot of Robert De Niro wannabee posters out there.

Davey, I think this fits. "When you're a hammer everything's a nail"

I often quote, as in this case with Wuzzie, when I have something positive to say.

I truly laughed out loud- I despise LOL- at your post, for its perspective and, well, maybe: truth, Wuzzie.

Plus I gave you a Like, something you rarely give me.
