thank you,

I also applied before November 15th deadline. I haven't recieved a letter in the mail yet; but I did get a phone call saying the admissions board had a few questions about my application. I was then told that the admission committee is getting together to complete the acceptance letters after Thanksgiving weekend, and that all letters should be out by mid December. At the time of my interview (November 20th), I was told 5 people had been accepted from early decision. I assume that if you have already been accepted they really wanted you! Ah, I hate waiting!
Hello guys,
I dont want to rein in the party but for those aspiring RNs-to-be, its tough out there to land a job. Our MDC graduating class July 2010, only 30% or so has had jobs. Considering these are accelerated RNs with past employment history--I've got a 10+ years of experience bilingual Cuban Doctor who just turned RN--very brilliant with good personality--could not land a job and he has been applying everywhere.
Just a food for thought and want you guys to be realistic especially for those of you who will be incurring $30K+ in loans + the aggravation of the Nursing school (God knows how it was one hell of a year).... Nursing career is not what it used to be. Ask yourself--Will the loan + aggravation be worth it if you cannot find a job ?
Read all the posts here about new RNs --some even dating back May 2009--not having found a job.
I know all my RN friends who graduated May 2010 from UCF have all been hired (most right out of their practicums before they graduated!!!) I'm sure your right, that some new graduates are having a little difficulty. I am willing to take my chances, Im sure it's what I want to do!
Anyone else get acceptance letters yet?!
I have a couple of friends who will be graduating from Valencia and Florida Hospital College in Dec and they already have job offers as well. I am not worried about finding a job really. They are definetly out there! And congrats sjmcleod! I am hoping to get something in the mail soon. I got my application in by November 15, but haven't heard anything yet! I am a little nervous about figuring out the funding side of things, but lets hope the rest of us hear one way or the other soon! Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving!! :)
I know this is a Remington College blog, but I was too looking into this school almost a year now and it was too expensive and too requirements to get in.
However, I found a school in Puerto Rico and I love it. I found the school in Aug 2010 and instantly got accepted for Nov 2010. It's also an accelerated accredited program which goes by trimester... Its not easy, but its worth it. I did not have to take TEAs exam, or BIO, or Micro to get in. The cost is 170 per credit..
The nursing classes I'm taking right now are Med- Surge and Psychosocial. Anatomy is merged into Med-Surge which is difficult but what I've seen from the professors they make sure that you understand the material. There is alot of reading.
If all goes well, I will be getting my associates in June 2011, I already have a BA and this school took all my credits... I'm not sure if I will do a BSN in Nursing, I'm tired of school.. Besides, I already have a Masters in Healthcare Management. I will see how things continue to go in PR..
I feel good about this move, I moved from GA with my 7yr old daughter. I'm at ease, didn't have to take teas, extra pre-req, or do the long application process.. I met individuals from Chicago, MI, Ohio, FL, and California...
I wanted to share my experience because I was too on this blog trying to get info about this school. I found a school to suite my needs...
Wish everyone good luck, I hope you all get through..
Hey All,
Just got accepted to the program. I'm male. Was wondering what the options were for housing in and around the areas (Lake Mary, Heathrow, Sandford) close to the school. My main concern is obtaining an apartment without necessarily being employed, as I will be resigning from my job and moving to the state. Any ideas folks?...and congrats to all the other folks who have been accepted and will be accepted
Thanks alanas09
rockinned I wont be seeing you at orientation if I cant find a place to live.. lol Ive been looking on the various sites and made a list of apts. When I looked at ratings from the tenants, I crossed off over half of them! I'm going down next week also to check out a few of the apts. Do you mind telling me which ones you're looking at so we can compare? I cant pm because I dont have enough posts yet. My email is [email protected]
Congrats Apahsia! Do you have any family or friends that can sign with you on an apt? I'm not married so I've got my parents coming down with me to co-sign if they want someone thats working. I've lived in an apt w/o a job in college before and they just wanted me to pay a larger deposit & I paid my rent up thru half of my lease when I got my student loan check.
