has anyone enrolled in the inaugural Accelerated BSN class that started january 2009? what are your impressions so far?

thank you,

topcat

I was trying to talk to the lady and see what the $200 was for exactly. I don't want to pay $200 and then not get in or something. I could not understand why a registration fee was so much when you don't know if you are even accepted or not? Maybe someone can explain it to me. The lady I spoke with didn't exactly see eye to eye with me, so the conversation was useless basically. I guess though that's some private schools for you! Does anyone know if there are still seats for the Jan 2011 start for the Orlando location?

There are seats available for Jan 2011.

There are seats available for Jan 2011. You need to go there and speak to an advisor directly at the Orlando campus. There is an application fee of $200 but if you do not get in they will give you back $145.

You must submit at least two letters of recommandation and they are taking unofficial transcripts by the end of the week to be considered. Then, they will schedule you for an interview and make a final decision. Classes start Jan 3rd.

I am getting desperate. Everyone I know who have applied to other nursing schools that starts in January 2011 already got a response. I don't know if I should pursue other options like Keiser.

I am getting anxious too brooklynborn. I am afraid if I keep waiting and hoping I am going to not have any options at all! Who is your admissions rep? I do not want to talk to the lady I had before. She made me so angry! I think I can get rec. letters pretty easily. Do they have to be from faculty, or can they be from my supervisors at work? Do you know how long the program will take? I assume since you applied to Remington as well you are like me and have the gen eds and such and just need the nursing core. What is the schedule like? Days or nights?

I saw Mr. ******. Besides your TEAS score and transcripts they give you an additional test called Wonderlic. It's a 12 minutes/50 questions test. But you need to only get 20 correct and wrong answers do not count against you.

If you have all you prerequisites completed, the program is 16 months. The breakdown of the tuition for the 16 months with fees and books is about $30,000. They accept 24 students and 12 alternates. The schedule varies per quarter but classes are held between 8 am to 4 pm. The are days you might get out at 1 p.m. They are accredited by the NLNA.

Currently, I putting my paper work together. This wil be my plan B if I don't hear from Remington.

FYI: If you took the TEAS version IV, schools will not longer accept the scores starting January 2011. You will have to take version V.

And the letter of recommendations can be pretty much from anybody.

You were so right. I called and talked with Mr. ****** and he was great! No games, just straight forward answers! So much better than the experience I had before! = ) I am not sure if I am going to be able to do Keiser or not, but at least I have some options it feels like! I called a school today to inquire about an LPN program, and I must just have terrible luck because I got a bad rep there as well. This lady refused to tell me anything about the program unless I came there to talk with her! I don't really want to do LPN, but I was just curious how long the program was! I couldn't even get her to answer that! Also, FYI if you don't get into Keiser, there is a school in south FL that has most of the lecture classes online and you go there for clinicals on the weekend and every once and a while for lab. It starts in March and there isn't a waiting list. It takes 18 months though! :uhoh3: But it would be better than nothing I suppose. If you are interested I can send you contact info! Hopefully we will both get something figured out!!:D

Right Now, the most important thing is getting a nursing license. Once that happens, there are plenty of schools that have RN to BSN programs. I submitted my application for Keiser and I am still waiting on Reminigton. At this point, I have nothing to lose.

I would appreciate the information on the nursing school in south florida.

I agree! If I can get the RN, I don't mind doing an RN to BSN program or something like that since I have to get a year experience in the field before I can do most of the masters programs I am interested in anyway. I am a little concerned with the cost of Keiser, but like you said at this point we really have nothing to lose. Hopefully we may hear something from Remington! I'm shocked that we haven't received a letter either acceptance or rejection at this point since we are getting pretty close to the start of the program! I sent you the other information via PM!
