has anyone enrolled in the inaugural Accelerated BSN class that started january 2009? what are your impressions so far?

thank you,

I agree. I don't think it is fair for the rest of us that are going crazy waiting to find out if they are in or not. I wonder why they would push the deadline. They claim that they have way more applicants every term than seats, so its not like they can't fill up the seats! I agree, I think they should addresst those who applied by the original deadline first! When I talked to them on the phone a few days ago, they said that we wouldn't know anything until the first or second week of December. When I originally applied and went to the college and met with someone, they told me that everyone would know by the middle of November. It seems strange that things keep getting moved around. I know they are a fairly new school and all, but most colleges give you a few months notice as to if you are accepted or not. UCF doesn't start until May, but they send out all of their letters by March. If we don't find out one way or the other until Dec, that doesn't give us much time to either do all the financial things we need and such for Remington, or secure another option. I'm just a tad frustrated about it all, but I suppose there isn't anything we can do!

hey, rockinned

did the acceptance packet say anything about having to send in a deposit if you want to attend/ reserve your seat for the jan. 2011 term? and if they did request a deposit, how much is it?

Thanks.

The acceptance packet didn't mention anything about a deposit. There was a bunch of information about financial aid. Orientation is January 13th and 14th. At that time you have to get your CPR certification through American Heart Association (only), health history forms (vaccinations), proof of personal medical health insurance. I'm still working on getting all that stuff figured out. Hope that helps.

Well I'm glad there isn't a deposit! It's nice that you have some time to get all of that done! They are waiting so long to let anyone else know that it is going to be really rushed trying to get everything settled!

Figuring out how to come up with $36,000 in less than a month is a huge obstacle for prospective students since we already know that grants are very limited in our situation. Not to mention for those who are out of state and have families.

I think Remington is waiting for early admission candidates to coming up with funding and that will determine how many open seats that are leftover for the rest of us.

I bet you are probably right. I didn't think about that, but that makes sense. Except it makes it hard for the rest of us to come up with the money on short notice as well. Hopefully we will hear something soon!!

I finally got my packet in the mail today:anpom: I think they are mailing letters to the people who got everything in by the Nov 15th deadline this week

I'm jealous... can't wait to hear from them myself... how was your GPA/TEAS?

My GPA is 3.4 & I can't exactly remember my TEAS score.. Surely you'll hear something by next week since the Thanksgiving holiday will probably slow the mail down.. Good luck! I'm sure we'll meet when classes start:D

congrats sjmcleod! I'll be seeing you at orientation : )

I wish I found out soon, yes or no. I'm glad more people are getting acceptance packages.:yeah:

If there are still incoming students trying to figure out housing, send me an email! I am a soon to be graduating senior who is going to stick in the area for at least six months, if not longer. There are great places for rent, if we can get about 3 of us.
