Anyone else hear anything? I called the school to try to get some information regarding a reference letter, and I also kind of wanted to know my calculated cum GPA since I did some of the prereq classes at different places. I was going to ask about acceptance letters and such when I talked to them as well, but no one has called me back yet....... They are usually pretty good about calling back, so maybe they are busy with applications and such. I am hoping to hear something soon, so I know what kind of arrangements I need to make and if I need to try to resort to my back up plan.
I finally got a call back from Remington and now they are saying that they will let us know about admissions by the middle of December. I am confused how the date keeps becoming farther and farther away everytime I talk with them. I am a little frustrated about that because if we don't hear something until the middle of December that would only give us a month or less to do everything we need to before classes start. Seems like it will be cutting it kind of close.
Waiting is never easy. Right now, I'm looking at other nursing schools in the area. Do you know of any LPN programs around Orlando?
There is a place called TECO in Kissimmee that does LPN. They have both day and evening classes. I know Lincoln Tech has one as well. If you go to the Florida Dept of Nursing website you can get a list of all of them in Florida. Go here: http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/nursing/ and then go to compare nursing education programs, and then when you get to that page just click diploma in the box and it will bring up all of them in Florida.
You should look into Florida Hosptials RN program. I talked with someone there yesterday because I would like to go there if I do not get into Remington and you can still apply! You would have to hustle to get your stuff there because orientation is Dec. 13, but that might be an option for you as well! The schedule will be a little easier! She showed me what the schedule is and You would go 3 half days and one whole day for clinical. It takes 5 trimesters, so not too long! Maybe try that. I can give you contact info if you want it. They have a bridge to BSN online there as well if you wanted to continue to that after you were done. Just a thought. I think that is what I am going to try to do!
Thanks for the information. I started applying to Reminington in July. Now I am just waiting for a response just like you and everybody else. I would prefer to attend an Accelerated BSN program but at this point in my life I need to do something.
My friend advise me to just get into any nursing program and get the license, the rest will follow. It's exetremely easy to get into one of those "bridge" programs to get the BSN or Master degrees.
My acceptance letter for the Jan 2011 start date said I had to reply my desire to attend the program by November 12th and that once this deadline was reached, other students will be offered an opportunity to join the class. So hopefully, next week they will be sending out more acceptance letters. Good luck everyone!

I did not get any information about any of that! The only thing I know for sure is that we will have to have CPR certification before the program starts, and it starts January 25, 2011. I know she said there is an orientation before that sometime, but I did not get a specific date. The only other thing I know is that they are supposed to make decisions by the first week in Dec. She said we may find out sooner, but that we would definetly know by the first week in Dec.
