RemingtonRNStudent,

Have you heard of the job outlook for when you finish? Will facilities start hiring Remington students once they graduate, given that they pass the NCLEX. Also do you know or heard of other students being hired in another state of their choice, if they don't want to work in Florida. Just trying to see how recognized is Remington, even though I know that they are still new.

Your response will be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone who has applied for the Jan 2011 term heard anything yet???

I applied for the Jan 2011 term. After my interview I was told that they may let people know early (November) or they may wait for all the apps & let everyone know in December. Soooo, I called to ask when letters would be sent & was told the beginning of December this time... :(

I got a package in the mail a few days ago with my acceptance letter for the Jan 2011 term. I was surprised to find out so soon (had my phone interview a few weeks ago). I'm very excited but also a little nervous. I'll be moving from Cali and I'm very unfamiliar with Orlando. Anyone out there have any suggestions as to what area's I should be looking for housing? Thanks!

Congrats Rockinned!! :) I was told the same thing as sjmcleod.....they told me maybe they would let us know in early November, but maybe not if you have been accepted! I turned my application in sometime in Sept and did my phone interview maybe 2 weeks ago, so I am hoping to hear something soon if they are sending out packages! I had another transcript they needed, so that might be holding me up. Apparently they needed my graduate school transcripts as well, and I didn't send them because I didn't think they were relevant, but I guess they use eveything to come up with a cum GPA??? So now I am even more anxious since they have sent some out!! :uhoh21:

Are you planning to move close to the campus? There are some apartments right near the campus that are nice and resonably priced I think! I can get the address and maybe you can look it up! Unless you are looking for a certain radius of the campus, then maybe I can suggest some areas you might want to avoid!

good luck alanas09! I hope you get in : ) I would really appreciate the address of the spot you mentioned close to campus. I'm going to plan a trip out to Orlando soon and check out the areas. But for now I'm looking on craigslist. What other area's are good for me to look into?

alanas09, i got your private message but i can't reply to it for some reason. What is your email address so i can answer the questions you asked.

Try Hidden Village Condos in Lake Mary. I haven't been over there in a while, but I think the road they were on was called Bakewell maybe. Sorry I thought that I wrote the address down when I was over by the school, but I can't find the papers I had with me. They may be at work. I can look tomorrow, but I know they were called Hidden Valley Condos. They looked really nice and they were like 5-7 minutes from the school and were less than $900 a month. If you found a roommate, that wouldn't be bad. I'm pretty sure most of them had 2 bedrooms, and I think they are privately owned, so you could maybe even negotiate rent. I will try to see if I can find the papers I wrote all that on. Most of Lake Mary is a pretty nice neighborhood. Altamonte Springs is fairly close to Lake Mary and so is Maitland. There are some really nice parts of those areas as well. They are only a few miles from the school, but probably would take 20-30 minutes to get there with traffic and all. Maybe that will give you a start.

Anyone else get accepted?? I am still anxiously waiting!! The wait it killing me!! :uhoh3:

Hey All,

I've been following the forum for a few weeks now and finally decided to join...

I applied to Remington for the 2011 class as well... I am awaiting my interview call which should be sometime this coming week, and am quite excited about it. Any advise? Also, I'm curious of how many applicants Remington has for this class, does anyone know? How well did everyone do on their TEAS exam... kind of nervous about that since I didn't realize it was mandatory, signed up for it, and took it all within 24 hours without preparing in any way for it...

Hi JSBSB,

Glad you joined us! I have no idea how many people have applied for Jan 2011. I was told it isn't as competitive as some of the other local programs such as UCF, but I don't know exactly how many apply.

As far as the interview, it isn't bad. They just ask you a lot of personal questions, like why do you want to be a nurse, and what your professional qualities are, and about your support system. Nothing hard about nursing or anything like that. They just want to know about you and if you are prepared for the program. You will be fine! I hope you get your interview soon! :D

I got an 88% on the TEAS and I too took it kind of last minute. I maybe had 2 days or so to prepare. I looked over some basic math stuff and that's about it. I did the worst on the science part, which I have read that most people have the hardest time on that part. There was only like 1 A&P question and the rest was earth science, chemistry, and physics. Good luck on the TEAS! I'm sure you will do great! :)

Oh I already took the TEAS,... Just didn't do as well as I thought I should have... The part that got me was the math... yeah it was algebra, but I didn't get a chance to review anything, and haven't taken a math course in YEARS... The science part was great... Personally I loved it, ranked in the 95th percentile in that section.

Thanks for the advice...
