Relocate to Sunny California?????

Published

Hello to all!

I am an RN in a level II NICU hospital located in west Texas. I am in a desperate need of change, I would like to relocate myself and my family to sunny California. Does anyone know of any good web sites or personal suggestions on a good place to call home? I was thinking San Franscisco, but I hear the cost of living is outrageous. Help anyone?

I think he meant that SF was cold and come up to the REAL Northern California . . . .;) (shhhh Tazzi)

Redding gets over 115 in the summer. We are over 100 here in the mountains but it cools off nicely at night.

:yeahthat:

Don't tell me to shush!

She didn't tell you to shush, she told you to shhhh, which is a completely different language. :D

Has anyone noticed that we, meaning the "WE" we, are all over forty? Could that be why we have all lost our minds?

I will now chivalrously stand aside and allow one of the ladies to post the HUNDRETH post for this thread.

I'm already teary-eyed.... :scrying:

I am not nuts because I am over 40. I am nuts because I have children.

TA-DAAAA! 100!!!

TA-DAAAA! 100!!!

101 . . . . . . :monkeydance:

Well, I'm officially nuts now . . . .no longer a flake . . .or maybe I am. I dunno.

I wonder about the songwriters. Was Silverwood a fruit, nut, or flake? What about Frankenstein?

California State Song

I Love You, California

words by F.B. Silverwood, music by A.F. Frankenstein

I love you, California, you're the greatest state of all.

I love you in the winter, summer, spring and in the fall.

I love your fertile valleys; your dear mountains I adore.

I love your grand old ocean and I love her rugged shore.

Chorus

Where the snow crowned Golden Sierras

Keep their watch o'er the valleys bloom,

It is there I would be in our land by the sea,

Every breeze bearing rich perfume.

It is here nature gives of her rarest. It is Home Sweet Home to me,

And I know when I die I shall breathe my last sigh

For my sunny California.

II.

I love your red-wood forests - love your fields of yellow grain.

I love your summer breezes and I love your winter rain.

I love you, land of flowers; land of honey, fruit and wine.

I love you, California; you have won this heart of mine.

III.

I love your old gray Missions - love your vineyards stretching far.

I love you, California, with your Golden Gate ajar.

I love your purple sun-sets, love your skies of azure blue.

I love you, California; I just can't help loving you.

IV.

I love you, Catalina, you are very dear to me.

I love you, Tamalpais, and I love Yosemite.

I love you, Land of Sunshine, Half your beauties are untold.

I loved you in my childhood, and I'll love you when I'm old.
