Relocate to Sunny California?????

Nurses General Nursing

Hello to all!

I am an RN in a level II NICU hospital located in west Texas. I am in a desperate need of change, I would like to relocate myself and my family to sunny California. Does anyone know of any good web sites or personal suggestions on a good place to call home? I was thinking San Franscisco, but I hear the cost of living is outrageous. Help anyone?

Gee, thanks.

Well, we are from the land of fruits, nuts and flakes. ;);)

Yeah, but she said the replies in the CA forum would be more serious. That means you and Mike and I are the fruit, nut, and flake.

Perhaps you may wish to visit the California Nurses Forum so you can get a good mixture of more serious responses from the other nurses who live and work in California. Good luck to you!

I think we just got slapped.... :trout: Did we just get slapped? I am humbled at the seriousness of this very serious post.

We should go over to the Cali Nurses forum and liven things up a bit! :D

Lord knows, the "I live in [insert state or country here] but I want to move to [insert state or country here] question" rarely gets asked around here, and the seriousness of this quite serious question deserves serious consideration before seriously posting a serious reply...

buuuuuuuuuuuut,

we didn't...so there. :monkeydance:

Yes, we definitely got slapped

Funny, I've been told I'm too serious....

I am the flake . . . . . . . ;)

The cost of living is outrageous...and it's cold.

Think Northern California, not Southern. We are just as sunny here...

Just as sunny? For the two years I lived in San Fran it wasn't very sunny at all ... same for a lot of the coastal areas. You often had to wait until noon for the fog to burn off and some days it doesn't burn off at all ...

As Mark Twain said: "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco."

I'm definitely one of the many nuts ...

I think he meant that SF was cold and come up to the REAL Northern California . . . .;) (shhhh Tazzi)

Redding gets over 115 in the summer. We are over 100 here in the mountains but it cools off nicely at night.

Don't tell me to shush!

Right.

However, if you have been following the thread (and who hasn't?) you will have picked up on the fact that SF is neither SoCal nor NorCal.

At the moment, it's sort of NOCal, as we haven't quite figured out WHERE you are....:D
