Relocate to Sunny California?????

Published

Hello to all!

I am an RN in a level II NICU hospital located in west Texas. I am in a desperate need of change, I would like to relocate myself and my family to sunny California. Does anyone know of any good web sites or personal suggestions on a good place to call home? I was thinking San Franscisco, but I hear the cost of living is outrageous. Help anyone?

No need to kiss my ring...bowing in my presence will suffice....:bowingpur

How 'bout just a slap on the back?

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

I'm a California native who moved to Texas about a year and a half ago. I was born and raised in Ventura County, which is in coastal Southern California, located about 60 miles north of Los Angeles. I lived in Bakersfield (Central California) from 2003 to 2005, and loved it.

Your pay rate will dramatically increase, and it is possible to earn over $100,000 per year as a bedside RN in certain regions. However, the cost of living is outrageous, and you will probably be renting an apartment, because the houses range from $275,000 in the San Joaquin Valley to about $700,000 in the San Francisco Bay area.

Kindly, please let's not chase the rabbit and leave the geography discussion to Columbus and his fellow explorers !!. I'm so curious to know the answers to the OP's post.

I'm from the east coast and have been to CA only four times, but I could've answered that one in elementary school.:lol2:

I did give the op some info about a Level III NICU where I live. And a weather report. Having some other info about the mindset of Californians is a good idea too - the fact is people think of CA as Hollywood and actors . . .and we are a very diverse state with big cities, farms, coastal towns, deserts, mountains . . .. .we are conservative, liberal, moderate, etc.

THIS is what I"M talking about . . . . . .

We want to secede . . . . and leave all you "Southern Californians" to yourselves. ;);)
