Rejected again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Published

I wish I had a million chances to get into nursing school, beacause I am sure that it will take a million and one. Whoever said don't give up has not been rejected for the past 7, yes 7 years. You name it I have applied to RN and LPN schools. I would give anything yes anything to have a job with decent pay, opportunities, and respect. My GPA is good, I work full time in another not so great healthcare job, and casually as a Nursing Assistant. I work for the experince not the money. I am willing to move where ever I can get in IF that were to ever happen, and even live in my car if that's what it takes. To those acepted your the lucky ones. To those rejected, maybe we are in the same boat, not likely. Yeah maybe next year, the war will end, maybe researchers will cure a deadly disease or cancer, maybe next year less students will apply, one can dream right?

Im sorry about the news. Which state are you in? I've noticed that some states have programs that are more competitive than others.

I'm sorry to hear your story. My heart goes out to you.

I'm so sorry to hear that :( If it's feasible for you, have you looked into moving to another state where it's less competitive? Either way, don't give up! It will all work out eventually. Just gotta have a little faith :)

We need to break down why you're continuously being rejected.

1. What is your GPA?

2. How many retakes, Fs, Ws do you have on your record, if any?

3. What grades do you have for the hard nursing sciences (A/P 1 and 2, Micro)?

4. Have you retaken these classes, and if so, what was your first grade?

5. Where are you applying? Have you applied at more than one school?

I'm not trying to put you on the spot, but if you answer these questions maybe we can help you figure out where the problem is and how to fix it.

Sorry, that really sucks. I wonder why you're getting rejected if your GPA is good. Hmmm...something must be missing...What type of RN program are you applying for-ASN, diploma, BSN?

I feel sorry for the crap you're going through righ now but 7 years?!?! That's crazy and I thought 2.5 years was eternity.

Dont get discouraged, everyone has capacity to do something beyond of her ability! believe in yourself. I don't think it's your grade problem, like others mentioned in threads. It will be better to find what's causing you been rejected, also maybe a little counseling from the advisor or someone who has a lot experience will help you find the answer. If nothing works temporarily, cool yourself down and think about another plan.

Sorry you have had such a hard time. Maybe you could go to a technical college. They accept almost everyone.

um... that is way less than accurate. saying it undermines what the OP is going through. in a lot of areas (mine included) all schools are ridiculously competitive.

To the OP, like someone else said, extending your reach to somewhere the competition is not as heavy sounds like the only solution. were your counselors able to identify why you are being denied?

Good luck no matter where you go. :)

Yes I am really curious to where your applying. BSN or adn?

If you can go out of state, be careful because like the schools I am applying are not taking foreign students or out of state residents due to the impacting of students in our own state.

Hmm have you been applying to the same schools? I would ask them what your lacking cause 7 years is a long time.

There is a difference between technical colleges and universities. To say they are the same is not accurate. It is much easier to get accepted into a technical college. What I said does not undermine what the OP is going through, it is sharing an option that she may or may not want to look into. Technical colleges are a great alternative. :twocents:
