I was planning to get a pair of Shape Ups but when I tried them on, they didn't feel terribly comfortable to me. I also tried on a pair of Reebok RUNtones. They were really comfy (from what I could tell in the store) but they only had them in mesh and we have to have leather...
I didn't think the EasyTones were very comfy. But, I have very picky feet.
I've been wearing the Skechers Shape-ups, and I walk about 6 miles per day. I have noticed a difference in muscle tone. I was sore after the first few days I wore the Skechers compared to regular sneakers. It mostly affected my hamstrings and calves. I love the Skechers because my knees feel better and my posture is automatically corrected without me having to think about it.
Multi reminded me - I DID notice my calves and shins felt sore the first few times I wore them, so they DO something, and I noticed the other day that my, ahem, PROFILE's changed a bit but I've been running more and ice skating more so I don't know what to attribute that to.
That said, I'm sure they're not hurting me, if you know what I mean! :)

Could be the shoes Carolina. I love my Skechers, quite a few people have converted where I work. I didn't notice any calve/shin hurts but I attributed that to I used to work out, I'm slim to begin with so no difference there, BUT my husband said he sees a difference in the rear view! I do notice zero pain back, knees or otherwise after working and I pretty much move fast my entire shift until the last couple hours of charting. I think they're like walking on squishy clouds but I have a high instep so I'm not sure if that's why there's more comfort for me.
I forgot to mention how my glutes have been strengthened a bit.
Skechers has a coupon code for Nurses Week. It's "NURSEUPS". No idea how much longer it lasts since Nurses Week is over. This code gets you $10 off a pair of Shape-Ups Work shoes. This model of the Shape-Ups has a slip resistant sole. I just got a second pair using this coupon. Noteworthy because I've never seen a coupon available for the Shape-Ups.

hey everyone
Since a big part of being a nurse is being on your feet all day, has anyone tried the Reebok EasyTone or Sketchers ShapeUp shoes to try to "tone" their lower half? I always see commercials for these shoes and was just wondering if anyone here has tried them and if they're worth it. :)
edit..sorry, i just found another post on the topic. i would have found it the first time if i had spelled reebok correctly..haha
