Check with your school first to see if there are uniform guidelines, some require a knee length labcoat and some would allow either that or a waist length. Look at the quality of the material and see if you can see through it easily or if it is a little thicker. Usually, the thicker material is of a higher quality. I personally like the White Swan brand of uniformas and labcoats. You can do a Google search for White Swan uniforms and price compare that way.
I agree with Penguin. do a google search, look on ebay, and do a search of uniform catalogs. A lot of the nursing uniform catalogs carry different brands. I would get one every day one, and even one of the light weight water resistant ones. some have slits in the pocket area, so you can reach your pant pockets. it would be helpful if you could go to a uniform store and try some on, find which one works best for you.
Your school might have a style that is required, that you would get through the bookstore or through the nursing school. Do check with them before you buy.
I've bought scrubs and lab coats from http://www.Jasco.com many times. They can send you a catalog too. Cherokee is a good brand, and so is Jasco. The Jasco site and catalogs sell lots of different brands.
They aren't just for medical students, some Nursing schools require them in addition to scrubs. I am required to wear one for the program I'm in, and it had to be from Dove Apparel with our name embroidered on it. It wasn't cheap and the material seems durable... You can check out their website: doveapparel.com. Hope this helps and best of luck.

I am a male nursing student and need a white lab coat. I am looking to find a high quality coat that lasts and fits nice. I am not looking to save money and buy the cheapest thing out there. I would like the best looking and fitting coat that is high quality. Can you recommend a brand or a website to order from? It's impossible to determine which ones are the best from an online search they're all white and look the same, haha. Thank you very much for your help.
