Hi everyone. I am trying to apply online to positions at HHC hospitals. I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on who to address the cover letter to? The website only allows you to attach one cover letter even though you are applying to different places within the HHC health system. Any suggestions for the online application process would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is wondering about this!
The wait time depends on the hospital. Some hospitals and departments work faster than others. I interviewed with three of them as a new grad. Metropolitan took three months almost to call me. And their whole interview was in stages...like a month later u meet with someone else and another month later you meet with someone else. Elmhurst took about a month to be called for interview and Kings county called me in after 3 Weeks since applying. They also all have different pharm tests.
Hey everyone ... I was wondering if they do blood draws for the HHC hiring physical exam ... When they say physical do they mean I'll be getting a hemoglobin A1C, LFT's etc ... typical physical lab work??
They do typical blood work to check your titers and a drug screen. I don't believe they checked hemoglobin A1C or LFT's.
Hiring process at North Central Bronx hospital for me was: submit resume 1 week later phone interview, 4 days later Interview, verbal offer 1 week later, 1 week after that HR called for paperwork and physical, 1.5 week later after my record and edu are checked i get offer letter with salary and benefit details. Orientation is 10 days of nursing orientation training classroom work, then depending on your unit some get 5-6 months preceptorship.
Marty307, it looks like you just posted in June 2016. If so, I hope you have gotten some action on your applications to HHC.
I just had an interview on 6/28/16 at HHC Coney Island Hospital, and the associate nursing director of the department mentioned that they just came off of a hiring freeze.
I do have a question for any of you familiar with Coney Island Hospital HR - did they require you to be available in 2 weeks? I will try to get a person on the phone tomorrow to get an idea for myself, but I appreciate any personal knowledge you guys can offer.
Also, the verbal offer I got was for per diem because I am going back to school in the fall for WHNP. I was told Coney offers benefits for per diem RNs when working 3 shifts per week or more.

Hi, what did the pharm exam consist of? Was it all dosage calculations?
