  1. Hi LaurenBear, I am also considering travel nursing now that I'm finished with my graduate degree. My first search here on allnurses for traveler yielded your post. Small world, I'm moving out of Brooklyn also! While I can't offer advice, I can do two things - congratulate you on your CEN and send well wishes for your career ventures. Please let us know how it's going. A recruiter today also advised me how difficult it is to get an assignment in CA. I'm not sure where I will be going yet, but I need to earn some money while I search for a decent WHNP position. By the way, I believe I have seen you in action at two different ERs when I came in for my wife. Keep on hustlin'!
  2. Marty307, it looks like you just posted in June 2016. If so, I hope you have gotten some action on your applications to HHC. I just had an interview on 6/28/16 at HHC Coney Island Hospital, and the associate nursing director of the department mentioned that they just came off of a hiring freeze. I do have a question for any of you familiar with Coney Island Hospital HR - did they require you to be available in 2 weeks? I will try to get a person on the phone tomorrow to get an idea for myself, but I appreciate any personal knowledge you guys can offer. Also, the verbal offer I got was for per diem because I am going back to school in the fall for WHNP. I was told Coney offers benefits for per diem RNs when working 3 shifts per week or more.
  3. So, Blondie, you are definitely going to Hunter? I wish you all the best going forward. If you decide to change your mind, you might spend time in class with me. I kept getting calls with no message on my phone, so this week i looked it up - it was admissions! I called today and they confirmed that I have been accepted.
  4. Did you receive an email or package?
  5. Congrats yet again! Rooting for your NCLEX to go just as well.
  6. You too! I am liking the kaplan course.
  7. Still nothing in the mail, but they keep updating the checklist for each ítem received. I guess there will be no official word until after my NCLEX result. I scheduled the exam for 7/22.
  8. My admissions checklist has changed to "File return to admissions after committee review", and checklist has a long list of items to submit. It's just not clear if I am on the alternate list or admitted. Here I go... Anybody else get an update?
  9. Awesome, congrats CBRN and to you, Blondie! I agree, after all the effort put forth, it would be nice to have an answer. Now that I can breathe after graduation, I will look at alternate schools. Downstate was my priority and only application. Yikes!
  10. No, I have not heard a thing, and my status has not changed from FacultyScreener4. I just figured they want my final transcript and license #. Good luck, CBRN!
  11. Immediately after submitting my application, I received an email with the subject line "Login Information - SUNY Downstate". In the body of the message they congratulate you on submitting your application, and a system-generated user/pw is included with a link. All my link shows me is that I have paid the application fee. Looks like health clearance would be listed here, too.
  12. Well, I just checked - my status has also changed to facultyscreener4, and I cannot log on to Admissions Checklist Login Information. I am thinking there may be a decision coming soon. I hope everybody enjoys the holidays, whatever you may celebrate. We've done a lot of work to get here! Cheers.
  13. Haga, Blondie...I was just thinking about posting here to see if anyone has an update! I gave up checking daily, saw no changes last wk. Keeping fingers crossed for you!
  14. I don't have a committee number, either. But I am feeling optimistic today - in other news, I got through my cardiac written exam without changing answers, about an hour after giving someone successful abdominal thrusts. Blondie, are you working in healthcare now? If so, the experience along with your first degree ought to help.
  15. Yup, I am in the same boat now. Sent to committee review and pending final transcript and RN license. Here we go! The instructions stated you could submit a page stating your license is pending, so I think we are on the right path. Blondie1887, I agree about the price. I am just hoping to find a job near school so I can survive the next year or so.
