hi all, jsut want to know if vermont require fingerprint card for nclex exam. ive been on their website but couldn't find any info on that. thanx
There are no requirements from any state for the NCLEX exam specifically, one is applying for licensure as an RN. And it requires approval of the BON to sit for the exam. The fingerprints, when required, are for the licensing purpose and have nothing at all to do with the NCLEX exam.
If there is no mention on their site as to fingerprints, then they are not required.
applied in CA, passed the NCLEX-RN, How to move to Vermont by endorsing my NCLEX result? CA dont issue license without SSN, unlike vermont. If I heard it before, maybe i am a Vermont RN now.
There is no way to endorse as you do not have a license to use to endorse. So there is no way that you are an RN in Vermont or any other state without applying to them and meeting their requirements.
For you to get licensed in VT, you are going to need to submit the License by Examination application and then have CA forward your passing results to them. There is no other way to do things, endorsement is out of the question as there is no license to endorse. And this is what we have told you already before.
And there is no reason whatsoever to proceed with doing this now as you will just be spending more money and more money. Licenses have an expiration date as well. Would not do a thing until the last year of the validity of the letter that you received.
This is what others have told you already as well.
I have been reading this thread and have gathered the following steps. I hope you could enlighten me with my questions here..
VT BON received my application on the last week of June..
1. submitted application - done
2. wait for Eligibility -
* How do you know that you are eligible to take the exam? Does BON send you a letter or email?
* Do they send the white card separately? Do they provide the candidate number on their mail?
3. mail back the white card if you are ready to take the exam for the BON to make you eligible
* What is the expiry date in mailing back the white card? Do they indicate that on their mail to you? OR where can we confirm the expiry date? I am really confuse with this one since some say it is 365 days but i would like to make sure that it is actually 1 year..Please help.
4. Register with Pearson Vue =
*you have 90 days to schedule to sit for the exam, is this right?
5. Pearson Vue will be the one to send you your ATT..
I hope I have listed the steps correctly, please feel free to add your comments if I missed something..
VT will send you a letter when you meet their requirements. That letter is valid for one year or 365 days, if you do not test during that time, then your file is destroyed and you will need to start over with them.
When you pay the fee to Pearson-Vue and they issue the ATT, that is now only valid for 90 days and if you do not test during that time, or do not pass, then you start all over again.
You can only use the application to the BON as well as the ATT one time, any further testing and you pay for the services all over again.
Hope that this clarifies things for you.

thank you suzanne! should i just leave that question blank or answer it? it actually has a note under it that says,
"You must have either worked as a nurse as stated above or have graduated within the last 5 years in order to qualify to sit for the NCLEX through the State of Vermont."
This means that i do qualify right? even if i don't have any experience yet because i graduated 2 years ago. sorry if i ask too many questions, im just really confused and scared that they might reject my application. Hope you can help me again.
thanks..
