RCC Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all! I haven't seen a page for Spring 2019 hopefuls yet, so I'm creating this one. If anyone has any comments/concerns/questions please post!

To start: RCC is in the early stages of developing a concurrent BSN program starting estimated Fall 2019. From what I remember at the info session, it will be about $15k and done through either CSUF or CSUSB. They are hoping to have 50% concurrent enrollment initially, and 100% later on. They are supposed to be meeting later this year (October-ish) to discuss it. I'm excited to learn more! It's definitely worth keeping up on if any of you are interested in pursuing your BSN afterwards.

I got in with 81 points (I think), got the email at 3:57PM. Can finally breathe. Good luck everyone

Yeah I didn't get in at 71 points. They said I was under the cut off.

Same. It sucks because past semesters people with 70s got in. I didn't even make the alternate list

What sucks about alternate, is I think it is random.

Congrats to those of you who got in! And if you didn't get in, try again!

I'm starting my second semester in the Spring, so let me know if you have any questions.

Hi all. I've just been lurking around and started this account once I received an email for RCC. I got in! For my stats in case anyone would like to know:

Science GPA: 4.0

Gen Ed: 3.8

TEAS Exam: 91%

Overall points: 89

Congrats for everyone who got in and I can't wait to meet everyone! For those of you who have been rejected, pick back up and dust yourself off! Make an appt with Jackie ASAP and go over all of your points and see where you can improve. For those of you who want to retake courses, you may have to retake at another campus if you have passed a class at RCC. RCC will not allow you to retake if you have already passed a class. You may need to select a campus unrelated to RCC, MVCC and Norco. I'm open for any questions if anyone wants to ask. I'm just really happy right now!

Congrats! I love your username.

Science GPA : 3.33

Gen Ed: 3.8

TEAS: 91%

Overall Points: 81

I also have taken Stats, have a bachelor's, have worked as a CNA, and taken the NXN course. Don't feel discouraged and try again! Theres always a way to raise your points some.

Haha thanks! Congrats to you too! I also took stats at my university, the NXN course and have a bachelor's. I'm not a CNA, but I did do clinical volunteering for that extra point.

I hear stats is going to be required for next applications, so that's another way to get some more points for the Fall!

Could I ask you to please explain the alternate list? Thank you

Congrats on getting an alternate spot, I was an alternate and I got officially accepted during take in day. So don't worry!! Many people end up going other places, some people don't email back within the time frame, the list goes on. Just make sure you reply to Steve saying that you accept your spot as an alternate and then go from there.

The alternate list is like a waiting list. If someone happens to drop their spot or fails to respond during the time frame the school gives to reply whether or not they attend RCC, they will give the spot to someone on that list. If you were given a chance to be an alternate, respond to the email ASAP so they can officially put you as an alternate.
