In my peds textbook: "Vomiting of a projectile nature is frightening to parents..."

I'm glad they specified that, b/c I wouldn't understand what would be frightening them!

Our Psych book has little sections called "Norm's Notes"... they're usually good for a laugh or a :confused:

"Well, you might have seen this before, but now the good old nursing process is applied to psychiatric nursing. Can you ever escape it?"

"I have anxiety and stress, and you have anxiety and stress."

"Where would you be without your family? I would not want to consider such a life, and you might not either."

"Can you spell addiction?"...."It can be hell to come off benzodiazepines"

I personally liked the wonderful advice, "Don't let your stethoscope become a STAPH-oscope!"

That sentence makes me want to add "HAR HAR HAR" to the end of it.

not from a nursing text, but from a sociology text. i was part of a group of 7th and 8th grade guinea pigs chosen to take sociology, psych, encon, and philosophy. the courses were freshman level courses and used college-level texts.

"most elderly persons will benefit from frequent social intercourse."

not a good word for kids that age to read in a classroom setting!
