Hi folks.
I don't post here much but have read a bit over the years. I graduated LVN school in 1992, and have worked Pedi Pulmonary inpatient and Allergy Office. I have mostly been a SAHM since 2002.
I am currently in school for Health Information Management, but truly need some extra cash right now. I found this ad on Craigs list but wonder how legal this is?
"We are currently looking for an expert in medical issues to give advice to callers. This can be anything from a doctor, to a stay at home mother that has learned tips and tricks from raising her children. IF YOU CLAIM TO BE A DOCTOR OR A NURSE ON OUR SITE, YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE PROPER LICENSE PROOF. Anyone can do this if they have an extensive knowledge of home remedies, or clinical medical knowledge.
You set your own rates and USExpert ads their 20% max fee on top of your rates.
We bill the client and collect beforehand. We remit payments to you every other Friday to your checking account or to an ATM card
that we provide you through our Bank."
If I were to look into this I would not give them licensing info until after I knew more about who they were.

I wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole. If you wanted to provide medical advice on the web, you could take all the risks involved, do it yourself, and collect your own fees without depending upon someone to send you what they say they have collected on your behalf.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. . .

Sounds like they want access to your checking account. It screams SCAM.

I think I know what this is. They have this same service for attorneys. You can go on line to these sites and, for a fee, get basic information from experts on a variety of topics. I have used the attorney site a couple of times to get direction/ opinions about a couple of legal issues. It's plus minus on the advice that you will get. I think it would be worth checking out. But before you sign up to provide medical information you need to check to see what your liability might be and if you need to carry malpractice insurance since you will be working as an independent contractor. Check with your malpractice provider to see if they will cover you when working in that capacity.
Also, don't give them ANY personal financial information. If you need to be paid, set up a PayPal account to use instead. Don't give them your social security number or bank account number under any circumstances.
Go to Legal Just Answer to get an idea of how this works. Sorry I could not get the link to post here.

Such services exist but I wouldn't follow a lead from Craigslist, other than to buy a booster seat for my daughter. Run!! You can look for similar jobs on indeed.com. That will be more reliable.
