Does anyone know what the "International Association of Nurses" is, or if it's legit? During school I got letters three years in a row telling me I was nominated for the "Who's Who in Educators" and suspect this is a bit along the same lines. Google isn't telling me much. I've never heard of their supposed publication "Worldwide Leaders in HealthCare."
Oh, I might also add that I have "been selected as a Top Nurse in" my small town Illinois, and have not yet secured employment after graduating last May. So their offer of this "prestigious tribute to [my] success" is very suspect, though I'd like to think they just anticipated my awesomeness
The International Nurses Association is a fraud. The American Nurses Association does not call or send letters unless you choose to join. I did the dumbest thing and I am curtainly old enough to know better. I was caught up in the hipe of being recognized for my 28 years in the medical field that I gave money to this disaster. They have taken over $1000.00 dollars out of my account without explanation then had the gull to call me and ask for another $500.00 more becuase they were behind on getting the book published which now I know there is no recognition book. They sent me a book that just has a Facebook account and they say a voucher for $500.00 to use for the airlines yeah right. You can find them on Facebook. I have written letters to try and get my money back but I have a bad feeling that I have been scammed out of it all. I closed the account no less. This is so embarassing for me to even write this but I want all to know "DO NOT FALL FOR IT LIKE I DID". I have many more letters to write, and may need to get a lawyer which may cost me more than what I have already lost. Never give personal account information to anyone unless you know what you are getting. I know when I turn them into the Attorney Generals Office they will ask if I gave them money and it will be shame on me. What really made me mad is when I would check my account money was taken out. They do have a number that reaches the INA but I have gotten emails to see what I am so angry about. They have not heard the last of me until they give me all my money back. Best Wishes to you all. Just do not do it.
and they charged me again, this time for the book, how many charges are there?? I've reported them to Ripoff Report | Scams, reviews, complaints, lawsuits and frauds. File a report, post your review. Consumers educating consumers. where they could contact you regarding any lawsuits that might be in action. I suggest you guys do the same so there is more push for all of us to receive our money back.
I cannot call this a scam as your probably actually do receive a product for your money (vouchers, coupons, etc). However, I do think they are deceitful in that they are presenting their organization/publication as a highly sought after/credible publication. It really offends me that they would play on a nurses confidence to make money as we have a low self esteem (as a profession) and are really making strides to "come out of our shell" as a profession. I am reporting them to the better business bureaus and I suggest you do the same.
Thank you, everyone, for your input regarding the "international nurses assoc.". I was also contacted by mail. The letter had my name (spelled correctly!) and of course, my address. It seemed a little too good to be true. Plus, I only graduated and got my license (CNA!) 3 months ago. I thought it was strange that I was being "recognized". To accept their recognition, I had to go to a website: http://www.myname.com! This is very disturbing to me, especially now that I know it is all a scam!!
I will toss out the letter, and probably notify the postmaster in my area about this scam.
Thank you very much!
after all a lady name Joanne from IAN told me about how i got selected, i try to ask her some info about how this work she wouldn't let me talk. she only wanted me to listen to what came from her mouth. she blah blah blah. and said you have to pay 34.95 today. i replied to her, today? she said yes. I just gave birth and i am a new grad not working, i am trying to find a job.she said she already submitted my biography, sorry have nice day and she left.
