Quincy College Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

I have applied to Quincy College's ASN part-time program for Spring 2018. I was wondering if anyone that has completed this program before could give me some insight. If I were to get in, does the program start right at the beginning of January or towards the end? Also, they said that we would be hearing if we got in or not around mid-October. Does anyone know when they usually do the orientation? Is it in October or is it closer to January? Thanks in advance!

Also if anyone else applied to the program and they start hearing back, please let me know!

You're right, it might only be showing up for me since I am already a current student. The fact that someone told you next week when before they said this week is ridiculous, I think they are just making up answers at this point. The lady that I emailed said I would receive my letter "shortly" which is also very vague. But just because you don't see anything on your portal, I don't think that necessarily means you weren't accepted, because you aren't seeing the other tabs either, which is probably because you aren't currently enrolled in classes. I wouldn't give up hope!

Thanks trying to not give up hope! It will be much easier if the just gave a concrete answer , so we would know not to expect anything before the dates, but the fact hey give such vague answers is frustrating. My other program is asking for a deposit but it is far more expensive than Quincy so hoping they give me some time to hear back from quincy

I'm waiting to hear back as well. What campus did you guys apply to

Update someone called in for me, they told her acceptances will be mailed out this Friday

I don't think they will let you change that, I called less than a week after turning in my application to see if if I could request both campuses, because the deadline had closed she told me it was to late. After doing more research I realized h=it was really far and was glad I din't do it

Guys, I'm freaking out.. I graduated from Quincy's LPN program in 2015. I applied for the LPN2RN Spring Weekend Program for Spring 2018. I don't have the nursing tab you guys speak of :( :( That probably means I didn't get in, huh? I got all A's and B's when I was in the LPN program, but my overall GPA was 2.78 due to my previous academic record when I was younger and not so serious about school. I'll be so upset.. I called admissions, and they even asked if I had the tab. I said no, and asked if that meant I didn't get in if I didn't have it? The woman said, "No, sometimes it takes us a bit to update the portals. We will be sending out the acceptance letters shortly." What do you guys think? Do you think I stand a chance? I'm a single mom of 2 toddlers. I really want do this for my babies.

Don't worry!! I think what they are really looking at is how you did at Quincy, which it sounds like you did great. I didn't do so well at my previous college either..much worse than a 2.78, but I worked hard when I got to Quincy and managed to get all As and Bs and I got accepted for Spring after being heartbroken when I was wait-listed for Fall. As for the Portal and the Nursing tab, every time I check my portal it looks different. At one point it let me see my "admissions status," and now it says it is "unavailable" when I click on it. At another point when I clicked on the Nursing tab it said "Welcome and congratulations on being accepted," and it doesn't say that anymore but the tab is still there. I think the portal is being finicky and I don't think they want people to see anything on there until they have sent out official letters. I definitely think you stand a chance!

Don't lose hope!I spoke to admissions, and the lady sounded pretty convinced in telling me by the end of the week letters will be sent out, along with an email. I never had the nursing tab in my portal either, I asked the lady about it and she said she wasn't sure if the portals have been updated at all.

Well, now looking at my portal in general, I'm even more anxious. It appears as though they did not take into consideration a couple classes I've already completed- 1 at Quincy, and 2 at Curry. The woman stated, "No, I'm looking at your account and it says you had all necessary requirements. Sometimes the portal doesn't reflect updated, accurate information." I emailed admissions asking them to just triple check this, as this could obviously result in not being accepted.

I don't think they would have processed your application without the requirements, like it would have gotten kicked back to you. I got an email after I sent in my application that said I was missing some stuff but when I called Admissions they confirmed they had everything and would be receiving my TEAS score.

That's so good to know! Thank you! And thank you all for the encouragement! í ¾í´—í ¾í´—

On a different note ,doe s anybody know what is going with the accreditation, I know they are under warning, and wonderign if they are doing anything or if anyone has heard anything. I was doing more research online and realized that if the mass board who gave them the warning doesn't see improvement they can shut down the program, that kind of scares me.
