Quincy College Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

I have applied to Quincy College's ASN part-time program for Spring 2018. I was wondering if anyone that has completed this program before could give me some insight. If I were to get in, does the program start right at the beginning of January or towards the end? Also, they said that we would be hearing if we got in or not around mid-October. Does anyone know when they usually do the orientation? Is it in October or is it closer to January? Thanks in advance!

Also if anyone else applied to the program and they start hearing back, please let me know!

Hi , I was curious if you got into the program? I just applied waiting to hear back about attending this fall?

Hi there! I'm literally in the exact same situation! I already have a first degree (Bachelors), and have been considering the part time ASN program for spring 2019. To my knowledge, in regards to prerequisites, you must have completed the TEAS exam, taken A&P 1, and be in the process of completing, or completed, A&P 2. I spoke with someone in Admissions recently, and she let me know that typically the application opens in June, and closes sometime mid-late October. Hope this helps! :)

This is probably late but you should realistically have all your prerequisites done before entering the program. I am graduating from the full time ASN program and most of my classmates only needed to complete Quincy's intro to computers requirement while in the program. There were a few who hadn't completed micro but they had very high grades in all other prerequisites when they applied but honestly it is hard and time consuming you do not want to be worrying about other classes while in the program, trust me you will have enough on your plate! Best

Of luck!

Congrats, and good luck to you in your nursing career! I agree completely...I already have a first degree so I'll be able to focus solely on my nursing courses, aside from micro. However, if all goes according to plan, I'll be finishing up micro just before the start of the program. Currently, I'm still taking A&P 1, enrolled for A&P 2 over the summer, and planning on completing the CNA course as well to gain some more experience. Lots to do, but it will all be worth it! :)

Thank you!! SO SMART to take a CNA course or to work as a CNA before hand as most of your clinical experiences will require you to do a lot of those skills. I wish I had CNA experience before I had started but hindsight is 20/20 lol. Best of luck to you. It is hard but so rewarding and it goes by so fast!
