Questions about Seton Versant RN Residency in Austin

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I have just been accepted into the Seton RN residency and can answer any questions you may have. I will also be creating a post throughout my experience in the residency. Ask away!

I took the NCLEX last july. I highly recommend doing the hurst review. There are definitely people who fail the NCLEX and don't start the residency as some of my friends last year got last minute positions that way by taking someone's spot. Not to freak anyone out, but take the nclex seriously and study as much as you can before you take it.

Would anyone mind sending me emails for the nurse managers if you have them? Also, has anyone heard anything about Seton Southwest hiring for L&D yet?

Finally received my ATT...scheduled the NCLEX-RN for 6/16 at 2pm....I'm studying like crazy :nailbiting:

Hi everyone!!

For those of you who have done the health screening, do you remember which vaccines they want documentation of? Thanks so much. I'm looking forward to the 23rd!

I ended up declining my position at Dells, and when I was visiting they had another open spot. So they should be hiring 2 more people

I am not sure which specific ones they care about OTHER than the Hep B series. I had mine but they drew a titer for me to make sure I had actually gotten protection from my series. I would honestly just take all the vaccine records you have. I took my card that had vaccines on it from elementary school :)

Hey guys!

I know they said for orientation we could wear navy scrubs or business casual, but what are y'all leaning towards. I'd like to be in the majority:)

I was thinking scrubs for comfort :) so km interested to see what others say

Definitely scrubs for me! Anyone take the NCLEX yet?

Got hired at Seton Southwest for L&D! Can't wait to get started! I got my license in Jan and my advice for the NCLEX is study as much as you can. It's definitely tough (with a lot of select all that apply). For me, the Hurst review was a life saver. Good luck to those of you taking it!

congrats atxrn09!

Has anyone gotten their GN permit yet? How long did it take for it to post the BON after your affidavit was submitted to the BON? How long did it take for your ATT to come in? I accepted a GN position at St Davids and we start on the 16th but they won't let me go to orientation if my GN permit isn't processed by the start date. Freaking out :nailbiting:
