Questions about Seton Versant RN Residency in Austin

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I have just been accepted into the Seton RN residency and can answer any questions you may have. I will also be creating a post throughout my experience in the residency. Ask away!

Ok here is all I know about the IMC at SMCA. I interviewed with them on Friday. They have 4 positions to fill and they are interviewing 15 people. They have the rest of the interviews scheduled for this coming Friday and then they will make their decision. I have an interview this coming Thursday at UMCB in their IMC so I will post anything I learn at the interview on here. Hope everyone is staying positive :)

I will be interviewing for UMCB IMC on Thursday, too!

I have a question for anyone currently in the program. I have been offered a position in an ICU elsewhere. I really want to work for Seton but I am curious about the benefits. Do they do tuition reimbursement? I already have my eye on grad school (I am a mature student). From the website it I am getting that they only do up to $2000 a year...is that accurate?

What did everyone think about IMC interviews today? Did anyone happen to ask how many people they were interviewing?

Did anyone get asked scenario questions at their IMC interviews where they tested knowledge? Or was it more to just get to know you?

No, at UMCB it was personality & behavioral type questions.

Yes, that is probably right..... I don't think that any hospitals in my area (DFW) give more than $2500/year.... unless you sign a contract to work for them after you graduate.

I was told there were 15 people interviewed for the IMC position at Seton Medical Center, with 4 open positions.

If anyone has the contact info for the Dell Children's representative who was at the open house, will you please PM me?

Thanks!!!

Someone told me we must be enrolled in NCLEX reviews (like Hurst) to be able to apply to the Versant Program. Is this true?

You have to be enrolled in an NCLEX review course or have something similar to it. They accepted one of my classes this semester for the NCLEX review course as thats all we work on in the class. If you have a similar class you just need to have the professor write something out on the school letterhead.
