I see lots of posts about passing or failing with 75 questions, just curious what the stats are. I would like to think that nursing school prepares us enough that those who get 75 are mostly passing?

I'm sure you did fine. My exam was the same way some questions were easy and some hard. I will keep you in my prayers. Try to keep your mind of it. Happy Easter when it arrives.

Hi times,
California does not participate in quick results and I heard that it takes about one month to find out your results, so you would not see your name on the BON site yet. I live in NY so I found out my results two days later (due to quick results). Just try to keep your mind off the test for that time cuz I know it can be stressful. I will keep you in my prayers cuz I know exactly how you are feeling.

i took nclex twice both 75q and failed..also pvt works 101% coz both exam brought me to cc page....had Kaplan first exam then saunders 2nd exam.i dont know where to start now..im so sad about it,im planning to take an LVN exam, do you know what are the requirements? but i will still take the nclex in coming months .Do you have any ideas what did come out in exam now since they changed the passing rate or is it the same questions?because my friend told me the questions are different now like lots of charting..,and he said if you take nclex for California and you got 2 or 3 math calculations in 75q then you will fail..but if you got 1 then there's possibility you will pass...i dont know if its true.. thanks..
PASSED. I was on this website for 2 hours after I got home from the test in panic trying to figure out if the 75 question cut off meant I failed. I took it on April 2nd. AND I had really studied hours and hours per day for over a month. And I felt like I didn't know that I knew that I knew that I was getting the answers right. All of my nurse friends say that this is NORMAL. And that they give you harder and harder questions if you answer them right, and that they may even give you questions out of your scope of practice. Don't know if that last bit is true, but I think the former is true. So if you thought you knew your stuff because of preparation and studying, and you are sweating the results right now, relax, you are just a genius. Just joking, 48 hours is a LONG TIME. I thought I would have to wait until Tuesday because I took mine on a Friday, but the results were up by at least 7 a.m on Monday.
ndame,
Do not feel discouraged about your abilities as an RN. You trained to be an RN and should continue to take the NCLEX-RN. If it makes you feel any better, I failed my first try with 75 questions. It certainly does not mean that you are not capable. I can guarantee you that anyone who fails at 75 is severely anxious to the point where its inhibiting them from performing well. We all graduated from nursing school so that speaks loudly in itself. You can do this. You need to pick yourself up, take a breather, take a couple of weeks off if you need to, and restart. Personally, HURST worked for me. It made me feel confident in my knowledge. I also did about 150 questions/day for about 40 days (I took 5 days off waiting for my results). Also, if you have any friends who might be willing to let you use their kaplan account as I did, it may help. Kaplan qbank and trainer tests have questions MOST SIMILAR to NCLEX-RN than any other I used (including Saunders). I made flashcards of medications and their categories (i.e. anti-emetics, anti-pyschotics, antibiotics, etc.), and main side effects and nursing considerations. I grouped the categories of meds onto one flashcard instead of doing one med per flashcard (you will NEVER memorize every medication!).
But please, remember that you worked hard during nursing school and you are capable of this. Failing twice does not mean you aren't worthy of being an RN, it means that you just need to wait a little longer to hit the job market (which as of right now, you aren't missing anything!). Good luck!
:nurse:Hello everyone! I'm new to this site..but after reading responses to fellow nurse comments,blogs,etc...I found this site to be very helpful. Anyway, I just took the NCLEX RN exam today and it shut off at 75 questions..and I am petrified!!! I had at least three "select all that apply" questions, numerous drug questions, three or four prioritizing care, and only one math drug calculation. I have been praying so much but I am soo scared. I have three kids whom I want to make proud. I just hope I can show them that if mom can do it, they can do anything they put their mind to as well...Any comments or replies are appreciated cuz it helps to talk to someone...thanks all!
Here's a Ha Ha for you.
The day I walked in to take my NCLEX. I was informed by the person at the desk, that the state is reviewing all of the questions and I would have to answer them ALL, the computer will not stop except for breaks. Yes, I had the whole test. Personally it didn't bother me, but the girl sitting on the next wall. I thought she was going to stroke out.
