I see lots of posts about passing or failing with 75 questions, just curious what the stats are. I would like to think that nursing school prepares us enough that those who get 75 are mostly passing?
i just took the exam april 16. when i was at number 72.. i was like praying over the computer chanting "please dont close at 75" over and over again! silly i know.. but still, it shutdown at 75.. after the exam, i was totally lost.. now the waiting and praying hard to pass. i hope we all pass! :redbeathe
i took the test last April 22. I was literally saying a prayer before i answer each single item. after the Item #69, the computer asked me if i want to take a break. I did. Went to the comfort room, look at myself at the mirror and said "You can do this! go back there and pass the test!" I went back and start answering. I was praying that the computer wont stop at 75 because I am not sure with the answers. But after the 75th item, the computer went blank. I felt like crap.
48 hours later, I checked the quick result and I passed! Thanks God!!!
Any good ideas on how to get through this waiting period? I have tried a lot of telling myself I passed, telling myself everything will be ok, praying etc. And I feel SICK TO MY STOMACH! This is just the day of the test, I still have to get through tomorrow and another night before I can find out if I passed or not. Test shut off at 75 questions and I was not prepared for that. No clue if I did ok or not, I can't remember most of the content of the exam because I was so nervous! I tried the PV trick about 20 times today and got the pop-up each time which is supposedly a good sign, but who knows if it's for real or not. I don't think I can take the sick feeling for another day. UGH! How is everyone else getting through this period?

Got the "good" pop-up with PVT.
In this day and age of technology, doesn't it seem a little absurd that we can't get our results right away??
Anyway... tick... tock....
That's exactly what happened when I took my NCLEX. The computer shut down at 75 within maybe 1hr and 10mins. I took a break at 71 and then came back and the computer shut off at 75. When i got home I did the pearson vue trick and I got the screen saying that I cannot go any further because I already scheduled the test...blah blah. That helped my anxiety a bit while I waited. I did a million times while I was waiting the 48 hrs to get my results and each and every time I did it I got the same thing. My friend took the test 1 day after me and as soon as she got home she did the trick and it took her all the way to the credit card page. So I really believe in the trick. And most likely you passed when the computer shut down at 75. I thought I failed with flying colors but as the test gets harder, the computer is testing your knowledge of the content and that means you are doing extremely well. Good Luck and keep me posted.

I actually slept well last night, but all anxious again today . Have been checking PV every hour or so, and trying the trick. So far, I keep getting the pop-up... so that's keeping me sane for now. So are the results posted 48 hours after you start or finish the exam? I only have about 17 hours left to wait (give or take)!
And yes RN2010* (In this day and age of technology, doesn't it seem a little absurd that we can't get our results right away?? ) We should have had our results the day of for sure!

Well that's great that you got some sleep. Try not to stress too much. Being that you did the trick, I'm almost certain you passed. You can find out the result 48 hours after you finished your test. I will keep you in my prayers because I know exactly how you feel and what you are going through. Stay positive and keep me updated.

Hi Wendy3,
I'm sure you did fine, as MOST of us feel like we've failed coming out of the test. If you would like to ease some of your anxiety, you can try the pearsonvue trick. If you aren't sure what that is, look it up on allnurses and you will find several threads about it.
Good luck to you :)
