I see lots of posts about passing or failing with 75 questions, just curious what the stats are. I would like to think that nursing school prepares us enough that those who get 75 are mostly passing?
New grads don't worry...I have seen both ends of the spectrum... I passed the first time and I had more than 75 questions..My girlfriend failed and had less questions than I did..I can't remember the number...study your weaker subjects a lil harder my weakness was psych..so I focused a lil more on that but the test can have anything from diet to med calculations..mine had quite a few maternity, psych, and diet questions I had like 2 or 3 calculation ques..it may be different now..The day of your boards eat a good breakfast and don't study !!have a cut off point the night before.. If it gives you peace of mind leave your notebook or text books in the car so after you finish you can check for the ans. of the questions that you guessed..don't worry you will have to guess on a few but remember to think about what the NURSE will do in a situation rem..ABC's first careful if it says what is the nurses FIRST response of course you are going to call a Dr. in an emerg.. but if patient is on the floor you are going to pick the patient up before running out to the station to call the MD:)GOOD LUCK..
I just took the NCLEX yesterday. It shut off with 75 questions and I really think I bombed it because I got about 4-5 math problems and that doesn't seem like a good sign. I also know that I missed four questions. I had about 22 SATA, 5 Priority questions, a couple of med questions. I couldn't believe when it shut off at 75, I thought I had more time to prove myself. I am really bummed out that I let my family down. I also feel like an idiot because if you failed at 75 questions than it means that you really failed miserably. I guess I will know tomorrow, but the wait is horrible!
Took the exam today... stopped at 75. Totally freaked out. Must've had more than 10 SATA questions, a few calculations, lots of pharmacology, mostly priority, and some infection control. I felt like I was guessing on most of them. I really don't want to have to go through this process again. AND... since it's Thursday, apparently I have to wait until Monday to get my results... although, I know some people who took the test two years ago on a Thursday and found out on that Saturday. Needless to say, I will be checking on Saturday!
LilKimber... I took it today too and mine shut off at 75. I'm really down right now but I'm trying not to be. It's wierd because I was thinking that after the test I would have a very free feeling, but now I feel nothing but dread. I got 3 or maybe 4 calculations, and about 10-15 select all that apply. Select all that applies are so freaking hard regardless of the topic area! I was getting select all that applies on stuff that wasn't too complicated, but I still feel like it's so hard to get all of them right. I think my last 10 questions were prioritization questions. I was also pretty heavy on infection control questions, but lighter than I expected on pharmo questions. I wasn't getting random crazy pharmo questions like many people say they do when it cuts off at 75. What does this all mean? I studied my ass off for this but, like many on this thread, felt like I was doing a lot of guessing. I felt pretty sure about some of my answers, but obviously not that sure. Somebody make me feel better here please! It's gonna be a long weekend either way...
Took NCLEX yesterday (6/13/08) and Comp shut of on 75. I feel like I failed. I am sick to my stomach and filled with anxiety!! To make things worse, the PV rep said I would have to wait until WEDNESDAY to find out!
Is this true? Is there any other way besides the BON, PV or the 1-900 number to find out? Recommendations on how to relax? (Guided imagery, deep breathing all the classical textbook stuff is a joke in times like this!)
PLEASE HELP!
I also took the test on Thursday and, even though I was cut off at 75, I was extremely worried that I failed. But... I found that yesterday that I passed! I think it was all the SATA's that really killed my confidence since those questions are ALWAYS hard to get right no matter how easy the topic. From all indications, it seems that getting a pretty good amount of SATA's means you're probably doing pretty well. Good luck to anyone who's waiting on their results!
