Hello..I just want you to share my situation right now. I just graduated my BSN from the philippines this april 2011. i am already here in ontario as an immigrant. Currently I am just waiting for my credentials to be sent to me from the philippines as some of it should be passed along with the application forms which I requested from CNO. I'm having a hard time thinking of what position to apply for my asessment: RN or RPN? I'm worried that if I apply for RN they will not recognize my BSN and tell me to study from the start all over again as I dont have my philippine nursing license..so Im planning to apply for RPN. which is better..?
and will the CNO require me of philippine nursing license? i'd still don't know what to do next- do I still need to take the local NLE?
Some people tell me I don't need it while may aunt in the US told me that I need it to have NCLEX someday and work there??.
I'll appreciate all your comments regarding this.thank you so much.:)
blessed23Does the kidney transplant affect your ability to practice as a nurse?

Hi dishes! I am once assigned in medical ward and Still able to work. No rejection at all or any infections. I just have to be really carefull at all times. It is important that I always wear protective devices.
Praise God I'm still alive and kickin' :)

You can submit your health information to the CNO but just so you know, the CNO's mandate is to protect the public and they require applicants to reveal health problems that can affect their ability to provide safe, competent patient care for example alcohol and drug addiction. If the medical condition does not affect the nurses ability to provide safe patient care, then CNO is not concerned about it.

hello to all..thanks for all your posts. such a big help for me
I just have a question about the forms that CNO might send to PRC to confirm my eligibility in the philippines--- I wasn't able to apply at PRC to take the examination there because I am not going to take the exam--how would that be.? thanks
No nursing jurisdiction in Canada will allow you to be registered with them if you haven't first been registered in the jurisdiction where you were educated. They need some proof that not only were you actually educated there, but that your education meets the minimum standards of the jurisdiction and that you're competent to practice there. So if you are serious about wanting to work as a nurse in Canada you will have to take the PRC exam and register with them, whether or not you EVER intend to work as a nurse in the Philippines.
HI I AM AN INDIAN GRADUATE NURSE. I WOULD LIKE TO REGISTER WITH CNO.BUT DON'T KNOW HOT TO PROCEED. I WOULD BE PLEASED IF ANYBODY COULD ANSWER MY QUERIES.
1.)DO I NEED TO SEND THE WHOLE APPLICATION PACKAGE I GOT FROM CNO WEBSITE.
2.)DO I NEED TO SEND THE FEES ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION AND CAN I SEND THE AMOUNT IN INDIAN RUPEES.
3.)DO I NEED TO SEND COPIES OF NURSING TRANSCRIPT ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION OR SHOULD I REQUEST MY COLLEGE TO SEND THE SAME.
4.)DO I NEED TO SEND MY IELTS SCORE OR SHOULD THEY BE SENT BY IELTS AUTHORITY DIRECTLY.
5.)HOW LONG IT TAKES TO COMPLETE THE WHOLE PROCEDURE.
6.)AFTER A GETTING A POSITIVE FEEDBACK FROM CNO CAN I BE ABLE TO GIVE MY CRNE. BY WHAT WAY I CAN ENTER CANADA FOR GIVING MY CRNE.

First of all, please turn the caps-lock on your keyboard off. The use of all capitals is the equivalent of shouting when using online bulletin boards such as this. Capitals are fine for emphasis, but should not be used exclusively in posts.
All of your questions have been answered in various threads on this site. For more detail, please do a bit of reading on your own.
1. Yes
2. Yes, you must submit the fees with the application, in Canadian dollars only.
3. All copies of documents must come from the source. You cannot submit them yourself. You will receive information from CNO on how to proceed with this once they've looked at your application.
4. This must also come directly from the testing agency.
5. Anywhere from 6 to 18 months, depending on how quickly all documenttion is received.
6. Once the CNO has determined your eligibility to write the CRNE, you will receive instructions on how and when to file your application. You will need a tourist visa to enter the country to write the exam, which is only offered in Canada three times per year. You will also require proof of intent to return to your home country once the exam has been written. All expenses for this venture are borne by you, ie application fees, plane fare, hotel costs, meals and incidentals.
Please be aware that there are very few jobs for nurses anywhere in Ontario (but especially the Greater Toronto Area) and it has been this way for about 2 years already. The province is in significant financial difficulty and budget cuts always target health care human resources first.
thanks Janfrn.........
but what does this means,,,,there are few jobs in Ontario.... do you mean we should look at some other province..........one more thing can you please tell me.......one recruiting agency is offering me an administrative job in Canadian health set up......by getting that job....i can apply for AEO(arranged employment offer).....that will actually add upto my immigration score ......do you think i should go for it,........as care taker or live in healthcare job doesn't need any licence........

What sort of administrative job in Canadian health care are you talking about? If working as a RN even if admin you are expected to be licensed
