Hello,
I have a quick question. I got a call and was asked to submit my resume by a nursing director. Do i just submit my resume and cover letter ? or do i also include references?
Thanks

My resume contains the sentence, "References available upon request." If the folks who are responsible for hiring truly want references, they will reach out to you for this information.

I always submit my references along with my resume. Who wants to hire you on your word alone? Every job asks for references. People who apply at Walmart need references. It eliminates a step in the application process, and gets you to the interview quicker. Good luck!

I was told to have references ready, but to not provide them until requested. It is a costly procedure to check someone's references, and I was told that it was not done until the very end of the hiring process.
I guess since they called you, I would have thrown in the question, "would you like my references as well?"

No, do NOT include references with your resume. and scratch the "References Upon Request" from your resume! It's a given that you have references so no need to state the obvious. Only provide them when asked.

Read this advice in more than one resume book lately.

Over-kill. Let them ask for references. First impression counts-you get a chance to wow them on first interview and then they want to find out more about you.
Kinda like a first date- you don't tell all on first dates. You rein in and then wait...
