Question for MCC nursing students

Published

I was wondering if you would mind posting what your gpa and hesi score was for last year and what number you ranked. This might help put my mind to ease until April.

Thanx

I checked Web Advisor today and my HESI was rounded up as well. I was shocked; I doubt that one bump in a point will do me any good though :( Think positive, I know, I know.. :p

So how'd you do on the Hesi Mac?

Nobody else applied last year?

I got a 92 and have a 4.0. I personally know 2 others with this score so MCC will have to look at the decimals. I also know someone that is in the program now and started in Jan. and got a 90 hesi with a 4.0. I am hoping this will be good enough. I wish I would have got a 94 then I wouldn't be worried so much. I do feel that I have a chance with them adding the additional 40 seats. Only 2 more months!

I will go to Baker because it is quicker. I will start the program in April and will graduate in December, 2010

Wow, you start in April!!! How exciting. Good luck in the program.

OMG, I was #45 at Baker this time. Figures. I knew it would be something like that.

2 months seems like a long time, but I am sure it will fly by!

Julie, I am really excited for you!

:yeah:Super! I think if you have a 92 or better you are good to go.

I ran into a friend from my A&P class and she was an alternate with an 89 and 4.0 and she got in. I forgot to ask her what her ranking was and will have to see if I can contact her. I was so excited for her I was jumping up and down hugging her in excitement. I guess her excitement has worn off a bit, cause she was looking at me like I was nuts.

It's so competitive to get into the program and not many people around us understand just how hard we are working to get into this program. I volunteer at a local hospital and the nurse I work with is an MCC graduate. She is fascinating to watch and she can appreciate my passion for wanting to get into the program. She is awesome because she takes the time to show me and teach me and I love love love it. :coollook:

Don't they take the first 40 students? Do they put you on an alternate list? I think if they do then you still have a good chance at being called. With the way the economy is right now, some people might have to decline the offer (not that I wish that upon anyone), but it's certainly a possibility.

I hope so, but I was #46 last time and didn't.

:icon_roll I am conflicted about the whole thing... LOL

Yes there were 40.

I agree, I think this economy is so bad right now there may be people that just can't afford to quit their jobs for nursing school. As I said before Gem, I know of one person for sure that is declining. That would mean there are 4 ahead of you
