Question for MCC nursing students

Published

I was wondering if you would mind posting what your gpa and hesi score was for last year and what number you ranked. This might help put my mind to ease until April.

Thanx

FWIW, they weren't very pleasant with my wanting to transfer either.

Does Macomb figure in the credits that you have done as well?

I applied at SC4 for this fall, and they take your GPA (25%) , your total prenursing course credits (25%) and HESI (50%).

No, they do not. Once you get in they use your completeness of prereqs as a guide to when you will start the program. If you are currently in a class, they assume you will pass it.

If what I found out today is right, I was even closer to getting into Baker than last time.

Gah.

I'm gonna just concentrate on MCC.

Definitely stop in and have them give you some sort of confirmation. Do not leave until someone verifies you are in the system. Ask them politely to print a Selective Admissions Nursing application letter for Fall 2009 for your files and to confirm they have all the documents necessary to complete your file. (I applied on the second day available, like July 15thish and received a letter on Aug. 8)

Also verify that your hesi score is listed in your assessment area on the WebAdvisor just to be on the safe side. (Since it's such a good score :yeah:)

You should get a letter in early April (unless they bump up the ranking), verifying your GPA and Hesi score and they do give you time to dispute it; however, it's not very much time so I would get the ball rolling now just to make sure you are in the system.

Happy Monday!

well my Hesi score and the fact that I am a selective admissions applicant is on WebAdvisor, but I dont feel okay until I get a letter saying they have everything. They have all my college transcripts so I guess I SHOULD Be okay. I will go harass them this week though!

Did you find out your ranking? Maybe you are an alternate?:redpinkhe

No, I will call tomorrow for sure. I had to pick up my hearing aids today and the whole day went by so fast the nursing office was closed by the time I thought about it.

Where on webadvisor does it say selective admissions applicant? Under my profile it says General Studies Associate Degree under Academic Program. I asked them when I was there last time and they said in the computer I was a selective admissions applicant. Also under my HESI score it says 92, but my print out that I recieved at the test says 92.37 and the website that showed the group score said 92.25.

If they have a bunch of people with 92 do you think the place them all in the 92 category or use the whole score to rank them? If they do it by rounding then that is dropping my score .37 and since I don't have a 4.0 I need all the points I can get.

Cool I will cross my fingers for you!!;)

Thanks for the formula on the combined score gemberly. I hope 96 will be enough.

I think selective admissions applicant is under "my program plan" or something. My HESI score was 94.9 but on WebAdvisor it rounds up to 95. They must round up or down. I would imagine if a bunch of people have similar scores they will use the entire score but I have no clue.

I did that whole points formula and I came up with an uneven number as well so who knows how they round it. Mine came out to 96.25.

I checked and it still says General Studies Associate Degree. That's okay though because with them rounding me down there is no chance that I will get in. I'll just wait until the beginning of April to see how they use my GPA and Hesi.
