I was wondering if you would mind posting what your gpa and hesi score was for last year and what number you ranked. This might help put my mind to ease until April.
Thanx

I didn't get in last year, but when I received my letter they tell you your ranking. My GPA was 4.0 and I only scored a 82 on the Hesi. I ranked #375 out of 760.

good morning,
for fall of 2008 i had an 87 hesi and a 3.57 gpa. i actually thought, at the time, that that was a pretty good score until i saw the competition and learned more about the program. :icon_roll
my ranking was 349 out of 750. :bugeyes:i better do better than that this year. the letter states that 120 positions were available. they ended up adding another 40 later i believe.
thanks for posting this thread. i hope we get good responses on it, because i was wondering the same thing not too long ago.
my combined score was 88.8 = 89.

I actually did worse this year on the Hesi. Our proctor p!$$&d me off and I just had a bad experience, he was such a freak, shame on me for letting him bother me. I didn't eat well and my sugar dropped, so I lost all brain function. I am finally over it and able to move on with my life. That test is so easy I can't believe I did so horrible on it.
I will use last years hesi and I have a 3.95 gpa (pre-req classes) + a lot of prayer If I don't get in then it's just not meant to be and I move on with my life. There are many alternatives and other avenues to pursue. Hell, I'm proud of myself for getting an A in A&P after being out of school for 20 yrs.
I'm not getting too worked up about the letter coming, it is what it is, I've also applied to many programs.

giggy2 says out of 750 and jabraham says 760. Did you guys both apply for Fall '08? Typo?
Hi ToxicShock,
I pulled my letter dated: April 17, 2008, and it says 750. Maybe it's a Macomb typo; however, they probably just merge the document when printing so I doubt it. I believe 1000 apply and they only bothered to rank 750, heck; I was happy to be ranked.
Good luck everyone!
P.S. I also notice on my letter dated: April 3, 2008, that the GPA is calculated to the .0000 position, so no rounding up here!
April 3rd, eh? I'll make sure to schedule my therapy appointment that evening after the mailman delivers my rejection letter
Maybe we can get a two-for-one price if I sit in the seat next to you....
The April 3 letter just likes to rub it in. They post the 3 averages of previous years and your GPA and Hesi score that you will be ranked on.
Schedule your appointment for around April 17, but pick an orthopedic surgeon, then he/she can fix your kneecaps (patellas?) after you buckle at the mailbox. (sorry I can just see it now)
(Sorry we hijacked the thread guys) Hijack over..:sofahider

I still haven't gotten a letter saying my application is complete, I am getting super worried and no one at Macomb seems to want to help me! I hope its because I am at the end of the alphabet!
If you ask me, it is too important to leave it to chance. The deadline is Feb.15. I would go there in person and turn in another application. I won't hurt. It would be terrible if you worked this hard and scored that high on your Hesi, to find out your application never made it.
Definitely stop in and have them give you some sort of confirmation. Do not leave until someone verifies you are in the system. Ask them politely to print a Selective Admissions Nursing application letter for Fall 2009 for your files and to confirm they have all the documents necessary to complete your file. (I applied on the second day available, like July 15thish and received a letter on Aug. 8)
Also verify that your hesi score is listed in your assessment area on the WebAdvisor just to be on the safe side. (Since it's such a good score )
You should get a letter in early April (unless they bump up the ranking), verifying your GPA and Hesi score and they do give you time to dispute it; however, it's not very much time so I would get the ball rolling now just to make sure you are in the system.
Happy Monday!
