Queens University ABSN Program

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Since there are not many recent posts about Queens' accelerated BSN program, are there any current students or grads who can give their perspective?

I am applying for Summer 2016 and would love to hear what people think!

Otherwise, is anyone else applying for next year as well?

I have a question for the pre requisites did you just submit regular English composition and English introduction to literature for the pre requisite quen 101 rhetoric and composition and quen 102 rhetoric and argument am confused I mean my school does not offer those courses I have just taken the English classes required for my degree also what did you take at your school that is equivalent to the pre requisite QLC 120-160 institutions and society my school doesn't offer that either I also checked community college and they don't offer it thanks for your response

Is anyone considering living in student housing?

The intro English classes required for your previous degree should work, just send admissions the course description and they will tell you if the class meets the requirement.

I'll be living off campus since I'm already in Charlotte... if anyone from out of town needs recommendations as to where to live, just let me know! I have been here for a few years and know the area.

you can submit an unofficial transcript for an unofficial review. they are super helpful and quick with responses. you can also apply to queens and submit your official transcripts for an official review of classes that will transfer for prereqs. :)

I was in a similar situation where my schools english program was set up differently than queens. You might want to consider taking the clep test for credit for english comp 2. but again talking to an admissions counselor. they are very helpful.

People who are familiar with Charlotte, what are some cheap/safe apartment complexes near by? or any place to rent near by?

Hi! My name is Regan Murphy and I was accepted at Queens to start in May as well! I can wait to meet everyone in a few short months. I have seen other schools started Facebook groups so people can easily communicate with each other. We will have to do that as well!

Hey Regan. Congrats! Did it say the actual start date? I am on the waitlist and I wasn't sure...just trying to plan ahead in case I get accepted. any help is appreciated. thanks!

Hi Kelly! I know this is extremely random, but I was just going to respond and let you know that the start date is May 16th. My name is Anna Zeng, I was accepted to the May program and I'm extremely excited to get started! I hope you hear back soon about being accepted!

Congrats Anna!!! I still haven't heard anything! I asked last week if there had been any movement from the waitlist, and none so far. so keep your fingers crossed for me!!! And thanks for the start date info! I really appreciate it.

Congrats to those who have been accepted! I just asked PSON if any spots had opened for applicants on the waitlist yet, and admissions couldn't disclose anything. Oh well! I will keep waiting.

If you are looking for apartments in the area, South Boulevard is a short drive away and has tons of options in the 28203 zip code, however rent usually starts at a minimum of $1000 for a studio. There are several communities closer to Queens on Scaleybark Road that start in the $6-700's, but the buildings are pretty old. Just to give you two ends of the spectrum!

Otherwise, Ballantyne, Elizabeth, and NoDa are all areas with several apartment communities and lots of restaurants/activities to do close by. Hope that helps!

Those that have been admitted or currently attend, do you know if it is possible to get in with a GPA that is lower than a 3.0?
